I had a guy ask me to buy these tires for him. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7948634273

After looking through the sellers store my question for those of you who are into more preformance. What's your opinion on the prices and quality of tires and rims.

Shipping to the midwest is $83.

I will be needing tires by this summer and I am starting to look around. Personally I will be looking for something more daily than performance! But I will still want a tire that do both.

Advice!!!

What size rims are you planning to run. If you stay stock, I would go with these from Tire Rack.

Yokohama Avid VS4's for $73ea. plus about $35 for freight(4) in the stock size. Or you can go up in width to 235 or even 245 if you want. The 245's are about an inch shorter overall diameter which is bit of a turnoff. You speedo will also be off a couple mph due to the higher revolutions.

V rated. 500 AA A rating.

Ray turned me on to them. Thanks Ray!

Thanks! I'm not sure what I'm doing yet as to rims. For right now I would prob. go with the stock. But incase I get some extra cash (but then I have better things I'd like to do than rims for the car)!

i got bf goodrich traction t/a love em, i also got em in 245/50/16,i like em being shorter since i lowered my car, a good inexpensive sport tire are hankooks,we sell em all day long at ford dealership, heres a link www.hankooktireusa.com the ventus ii look the best, i was going to get em but my size was on back order and i didnt wanna wait.

my oppinion is, have good trac tires p front, and good perfroming in the rear

When I got the Corbra R's I had to goto a 17" tire... The 245/50/17 size is almost a perfect match with Stock... I went a bit wider because of the tire my tire guy recommended. He owns the shop, which is always packed cuz he's cool and takes time to explain everything to his customers. Needless to say he's got $$$. He drives a Mercedes SL and showed me his tires. (Hankook's) which he reommended for my MarkVIII. He said he loves them because they are quiet, smooth riders, handle awesome and are great in all weather.

They are Hankook Ventus ST RH06... an All Season (need that in NJ) V & W Rated, Ultra High Perf Radial. Because Hankook didn't make it in the 245/50/17, I got the 255/50/17, which actually is only .3" shorter than stock sidewall but has a 10" footprint. No Speedo difference!!!! This tire is listed by Hankook as a high performance SUV tire, but my tire guy said that is only because of the size and load numbers, but make no mistake the tire is all performance. He also said the extra load capacity, (I think over 1800 in this size) only helps stability with the heavy MarkVIII.

I've had them on since September and they are running nice. They also look really great with a nice vertical serrated band and black lettering. They've got all the features of my old Michelin Pilot Sports for about a thrid of the cost... Check em here:

FORGOT THE TECH DETAILS:
Needed a .25" spacer on the front tires due to suspension arms
Nothing required for the rear...! Tire has a nice serrated wheel protector band around the inner part of the sidewall.
