Hey All,
I figured I would lure some people in with my thread title but here's my question. I'm actually looking for advice from people. I am putting 18" rims on my LS and I plan on lowering it in the near future. I was curious if anyone has 18s and lowered and if so which tire size do you prefer 245/40/18 or 245/45/18?

If anyone has a lowered LS on 18s please let me know which size tires you have and give me your opinions on the style and look of the different sizes. I want to minimize the wheel well gap so the obvious choice would be the 245/45/18s but I also want a low profile. Let me know yuor thoughts! Thanks!

I run a 245/45-18 tire with a 1" drop and haven't had any problems. I like the 245/45 size because it is the same diameter as the stock 17" wheel and tire. The 245/40 is smaller in diameter and I also like have a little more sidewall to fill up the wheel wells.

You can see how they look by clicking on my photo link below.

i have 245/40/18s on the front and 275/35/18s now on my lowered LS, but if I was to change again I would put 245/45/18 front and 275/40/18 rear.

I am running 225/45/18 frt and 245/40/18 rr with Eibachs no problem with the tire fit, but when the next tires are do I will be going to 245/45/18 all round. Look at my gallery and decide for yourself.

I had the 45 series tires with stock suspension, and all was fine.
I then replaced those tires with 40 series, and the wheelwell gap was not acceptable for me. Dropped the suspension with the Eibach springs and all has been well.

Running 245/40 18 all around with Eibach springs (aprox 1.25" drop) without problems.

New rubber.

I had new tires installed- after some long thought and careful research i choose Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge. I couldnt be happier- the stock michelins were garbage as far as i was concerned, sure i got 65k out of them but snow traction was nothing special in addition to the feeling during dry cornering that the car had more to offer than the tires. Installed it was about 730$ and they are fantastic and they do very well on snow and ice (we just had two ice storms in the last week). Granted they are brand new but they are excellent on dry pavement, no longer do i feel that i dont have "enough" tire on the stock car.

I'm running Michelin Pilot XGT's 235 50ZR 17's. I like 'em. No problem taking it to the limit of the car.
