I have a 2000 LS V8 and I am attempting to tint the windows, but I am wondering about the defrost system on the rear window. I can feel them on the inside of the window. Will these lines cause bubbles in the tint? Any input please.

there willl be a very thin line, barely noticeable, on each side of the defrost lines where the tint will not adhere due to imperfections of the glass. you just have to deal with it.

Are you going to personally tint the rear window or have a professional do it? If your doing it yourself you are taking a risk that, in the long run may come back to haunt you. Especially when doing the rear window, which you'll need another set of hands to help.. (IMO)
The problem is that the materials aren't that expensive and it seems easy enough to do yourself, so the temptation was there for me to give it a shot.
One of my friends father's tried this approach and the back window turned out so :q:q:q:qty she had to take it off and get it done professionally because of the rear window.
Anyway this site was extremely helpful and answered all my questions.

I will be doing the job. Ive done tinting before, and the tints are precut. But I've never had to deal with the defrost in this manner. Is there anyway to cut down the thin lines? Any special tricks or ways around?

If it's a high quality film and you clean the area well it shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't shave it down you could break the defroster and radio antenna. The only time I notice it is headlights in my rear view mirror, the lines are accentuated a bit.
