Hello everyone,

What are some of the repercussions of over tightening your valve covers or tightening out of sequence.

Thanks for your help in advance.:)

1. You crack or distort the cover(s), so they will leak until they are replaced.
2. You crush the gasket(s) until they have to be replaced.
3. You break a bolt off.
4. It doesn't do any harm, but it doesn't stop the oil leak either.

Unless the bolts are loose, tightening them is unlikely to resolve a leak.

Thank you for your reply. I just wanted to make sure I was not seeing any of these symptoms.
