This sure would've been a nice motor in our cars!

You know what would have been nice, if you searched.

You know what would be nice? If you STFU! I did search Thunderbird, 2003 Thunderbird, Thunderbird supercharged & I couldn't find this article so seriously STFU! Some of you guys are major dicks on here & it's amazing how anal you can be.

Wtf was their to search for? He obviously was searching for something because he found the car. Now granted it was probably like the McLaren LS that never saw the light of day but it wasn't like he was asking if they were out there and where to buy one.

Actually, they did actually make one of these. Didn't go anywhere though. Probably worried it might hurt Jaguar, like the original LSE concept.:Bang :shifty:
Found some good pics, tho.

That car sure does look nice in red. There was actually only one ever made by Ford?

Agreed!:Beer
But, you know if FoMoCo ever did let that one happen, they would have neutered it somthin' awful.

Well, I'm not sure about the build on the sc thunderbird, buuut.... that supercharged engine looks like it would fit under the stock hood. So, in theory, it should be able to fit under the stock LS hood also.

This, as far as I can tell anyway, is the only one that they built to test in real life. I mean, they had the "concept" show car and all, but we all know that those cars almost never get out on the road for real.

Interesting that they didn't wrap the intake tube all around the engine. I could've swore that on our setups, that would never work. I suppose you could try to relocate stuff.

I think that's a Gen2 Thunderbird, so same layout as Gen2 LS & S-Type. The wrap-around thing would probably work on a Gen1, though. Maybe from the XJR with the 4.0 liter engine? Dunno.

I remember reading that the then Ford CEO Mually got a one off Supercharged TBird as his personal car to drive. Maybe that is it, because no specs where ever released on it except that it was supercharged.

Yes. The supercharged throttle body is at the back, directly under the bottom of the intake tube sitting upright.Copy of !Bfh1+m!BWk~$(KGrHqYH-EIErgcO3e3HBLBrjNFppQ~~_12.JPG (Sorry, this was the best pic I could find.)
