Started the car one morning. Still in 'Park', foot off brake. Lighting my cigar when the car jolted back about a foot!! First time it has happened. Very slight incline but this seemed to be a definite 'in-gear' reverse.
WTF!!

Also, passenger window frozen shut, just light frost at rubber/plastic. So, I hit the 'up' again to take the strain off the innards. Hour later, tried again. Heard something small 'fall down' inside the door but the glass stayed up. A minute later the glass descended about 4 inches. I got home and slowly manually raised the glass and then slowly lowered it into the door. Final outcome---5 cent piece of plastic=$300 bill for window regulator. Kept the old parts if anybody is interested.

wow that sucks man,
same thing with my back passenger window,
4" down also, had to manually raise it up and i put a lil rubber piece in the meantime just to tuck the window between the door so it doesnt fall down, guess ill go a try to order the window clips first!

I hate to rub it in, but I found a complete set of '06 doors in excellent condition for $100 about 10 miles from my house. I needed the right side doors because a dippy High School girl managed to pull out into traffic when there was no room, and although I moved over two lanes to try to miss her, she took out both passenger doors. We worked on it for a whole weekend to get the 'B' pillar back in place and get the doors hung. But I've got two good doors and two wrecked ones that have all the glass and mech parts still good so I'm almost ahead of the game!

Similar to Jag?

According to my mechanic there are 'after market' replacement parts for the REAR doors but not the front doors. The parts are (apparently) common in the LS and the Jag.

Unfortunately this was a fix-it-now requirement because the temperature was 35 degrees.

$300 ouch.

my drivers side just broke on monday morning, rolling the window up from going through a drive through. took 15 min to take the door panel and use a small vice grip to hold the window up while rock auto two day shipped me a new reg for $90, then dropped it in on wednsday after it got delivered. would have only taken less than an hour to swap it out, but i had to spend forever cutting holes in the dynamat to pull all the bolts out, and to cutting the inner panel from the outer shell.

I had my passenger side clips go out. My Ford dealer sold me the whole kit minus the window motor for I think 125.00 it was really a pretty easy fix except I learned that the motor remembers where it was at in the up / down cycle.

I had played with the up /down button after I had the motor seperated and when I put the window back together the window would go to the top and then roll down. Our cars have a safety function to prevent crushing an arm in the window.
(sorry I got off point) anyway I had to take the motor back out and hit the auto down before replacing the motor . BUT I thought if one clip breaks,, the other is right around the corner,, if you got the door apart,, just replace the whole deal.. I thought 125.00 wasn;t bad for a good peice of mind

this was quite a surprise to me as well, i figured it was just like every other car, and knew when to stop by the change in current at the motor. i guess that is why you dont need to recalibrate the windows after the batter is un hooked.
