This is the sound I'm after on my mark VIII

go to lincolnmotorsport.com theirr exhaust setup is 10x better, for power, and sound. its 2-1/2'?...with 2 x pipes down to 2 mufflers that have an x pipe inside of them, custom designed for the markVIII, not cobra, and like motors...for the markviii

yeah but not all of us can reasonably invest over $1000 on exhaust on a car, that's just crazy!
 
Where do you get a $1000.00 from? Our twinn xx pipe is $100.00 lus s&h, right now ANY of our mufflers are on sale for $119.00 each plus s&h?

That $340 just for the pipes and then A muffler shop will probably charge around $200-$300 to install with extra pipes. Actually if you read your posts, u quoted someone $1278 installed for the exhaust system, i was quoting low. Do you want me to track that post down for you, I can if you want.
 
ive only spend 600 and thats just for 2 muffler and a exhaust tip...( and a new bumper for the new exhaust setup).....still need two mid pipes and the installingof the exhuast and jet coating. another 500-600$. if i decide to do the exhaust, giving up on moding the mark.

why exactly is their setup 10x better? Do you have specific details? I don't see anything wrong with the exhaust setup pictured on that website.
 
its made by LMS, who cares why thats what they think, you can make your own and be just as good, sorry guys but that what i think.........

I agree. I think the LMS setup is nice, and I like the X pipe a lot, but at the same time, you are completely right - you could make one yourself that provides the same level of performance.

Ill take that challenge ANY day of the week. Let me explain something here, we spent TWO years in product development and research before we ever released one exhaust item and I will guarantee you will not find a single system to rival this. Been there done that, we ran more dyno time on the exhaust then anything else. So please do not make statements without backing.

And again please tell me where you will find a 100% stainless steel lifetime warrantied mirror chrome polished muffler that was designed for this car and engine with ss tips too for $119.00 each.

I have no doubts that you sell a good product, and I don't mean to disparage you in any way. But exhaust systems are not a mysterious art, they are built every day, in some cases by people with decades of experience in performance. It's not difficult for a professional to design and install a system for a given application. The shop I use has been building me systems for the last 6 or 7 years and I have been happy with all of them, as they all involved swaps or engine installs that required completely custom work. As for r and d with mufflers, there are a lot of muffler companies out there who have been making mufflers for decades as well, and I am sure that they have done their fair share of research.

Can you explain to me a bit how the muffler was designed for the car and who manufacturers it? And why is it called the QX4 - is it from an infiniti?

Again, please don't take this as an attack on your company or your products.
 
67 Im not sating your knocking me I am just saying your not armed with the knowledge you need about this subject matter. WE ARE PROFFESSIONALS, we took the time to deal with this system which is quite different from most out there, especially when you have a car where the mufflers are at the end of the equation like the Marks.

We tried Magnaflows, Dynomax, all of them, we couldnt get a happy medium, either too much tq and no hp or vica versa, thats when we decided we had to do something about this ourselves with a truly unique design that has never been offered to the general public, the Twiin XX Pipe torque chamber.

We tried one x, h pipes and NOTHING would kill the drone, then jeff at Ford Racing told us about a unique trick they did with the early 32v prototype Thunderbirds (They ran the 32v in the MN12 before it was used in the Marks FN10 chassis for driveability issues and what not) and he spoke of them hand making twin xx pipes to solve this he also noted that they had a slight increase in torque at lower rpms from this too. So then the twin xx pipe from LMS was born. We also tested MANY chambered mufflers as well with terrible results, you have to remember something, the 32v is a serious air mover, I mean seriously fast exhaust gas speeds come from this engine and the chambered mufflers KILL this in these cars, muffs like Flowmasters which I always will and still do say is the worst muffler for this car based on dyno facts and what we have seen, dont get me wrong they sound mean but do want to just SOUND mean and not run MEAN? I Love them, they just belong on pushrod motors.

We had some help from Jeff Dunn at Ford Racing with our exhaust product too, so it is backed by Ford btw. Its cool, you can call Ford Racing and ask anything about a Mark VIII and see whos number they will give you. We are THE ONLY Lincoln tuner endorsed by Ford Racing.

Geno, This goes with my emissions thread. I've been reading all these quotes with great interest. You've sent me pictures of the underside of your car. Your are in fact eliminating the third cat as well as the resonator? I've been told that the Mark wont pass emissions here in Houston without that third cat. What are your thoughts?
 
Passes all 50 states. I have never heard of it not passing. If we can pass here in NJ on the dyno I couldnt imagine it not passing anywhere else. Our stuff is strict.
 
so, how does you muffler @ the end compare to everyone doing the midmount (dynpomax or whichever one their using) dual in dual out muffer. why dont you make a dual in dual out muffer
