A few months back I bought a loaded high mileage 06 for a song, and with the help of all you guys I have managed to get everything fixed and back to perfect!

I am definately no stranger to working on cars, but the set up in the LS is a little different, it is always nice to be able to read what other people found before you tear into it.

I usually only keep my cars a couple months, but ya know what... I really like this thing, I may go for a record and keep it a WHOLE year! (yeah, it has been driving my wife crazy for 10 years too)

A few of the things that had to be done:

T-Stat - (3 peice - Holy Crap)
DCCV Valve - (Dealer wanted $1200 ) Did it for $157 in under an hour!
New Iridium Plugs - (Took me a few to find the damn things)
K&N Cold air intake
SCT X3 With ILLS tune of course
The above TWO mods of course led to..... A new set of tires! :D

You would never know it had 120K on it the way it runs and drives!!

Anyways all is well and up to par... Thanks Guys!!!

DITTO!!!

The wealth of knowledge on this forum is enormous. From the basic repairs and trouble shooting to the guys currently doing full builds on the LS.

Now I just need to find out what it takes to drop the engine and trans. Don't know if there is a write-up, but I might need a to get a camcorder.

Im not sure exactly sure how to pull the engine, but I know someone mentioned that it has to be dropped out through the bottom... I'd advise you to find a lift or invest in some nice stands

EDIT: I did a search for "engine swaps". Apparently it is POSSIBLE to pull it from the top, but its a royal pita. This guy took off the bumper and dropped the engine and subframe with plenty of clearance--> http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=48680&highlight=engine+drop

Thanks Gipp! It is pretty general as far as what to do but it helps.

I love how there are always so many people on the Lincoln parts of the forum. Usually it's 30 or more and the others have 5-6 people on.
