Does the ls have two different thermostats or what.

The 2nd gen takes the multi-piece thermostat.
Your LS keeps overheating because you haven't replaced ALL the plastic cooling system parts.

I suppose there's micro fractures in the plastic isn't there. Its gotta be leaking from somewhere I guess beacause the reservoir was full and now it basically empty.

It's either leaking or you have some huge air pockets ...some ppl have went as far to put UV dye in the coolant and used a black light to find the leak ...call me old school but I just replace the whole coolant system ..one and done ...yes its money ....but no one said owning a Lincoln or Cadillac was cheap

Just because you don't see coolant on the ground doesn't mean it isn't leaking. I don't know why so many don't want to believe this...
