Ok, I am fixing up 98 Toreador Red LSC. The interior was Prairie tan, and I am replacing it with Ebony. I just did the heater core and blend door. I am about to lay the black carpet down, and this would be the perfect time to run RCA's and put in a hell of a system, but with this car, I am leaning towards not doing it. It don't add any value to the car at all, and Marks in well kept condition has been fetching pretty good money. At least down here. What do you think?

They sure do ask alot for some of them. Around 5k for most of them in OK condition. There's one in pasadena that's been there for 6 months and the guy won't budge on the price. It's a black/ebony 97 with 88k mile, coil and halogen conversion already done for $4500.

mine is worth a $1,000,000.

LOL +1...

JK, but i dont plan on getting rid of mine. there are a couple of dealershipps up where i live that have a couple of MK's they want $5500 for a white 97. and they wanted $3500 for a 93. my local ford dealer has a 2003 SVT cobra with 1,500 miles on it. they want $26,750 its black on black. i want it so bad.

If your plan is to sell it then it makes no sense to add a system to it. I would keep it 100% stock.

So did you fix the engine and trans yet? I understand the car wasnt going in gear and then the engine stopped running?

Well you can always "un-do" a system install. Just put all the factory stuff in a box until you are ready to switch it back to stock again and sell it.

I don't know much about stereo's but isn't the wiring in the big scheme of things minor compared to the equipment? If so wouldn't it make sense just to wire for future needs?

If I had the wire laying around I'd lay it in and then use the stock system. If in the future I wanted to throw a system in it would be very very simple.

Remember to label your wires with permanent marker and throw your ground in there also.

I'd also lay in the top of the trunk a board or something where the compass etc. stuff is pre-fabbed for an amp/ etc. From my experience, ( I have a computer in the trunk along with my amp. ) it doesn't get hot enough to worry about an amp back there unless it's a huge amp so pre-fabbing that area for a later install is a win-win. No-one would know otherwise.
