This is from an article printed in today's Vancouver Sun Driving Section (Pacific Northwest).
It may not be a Mark VIII but the 1970, 71 or 72 Plymouth Barracuda has turned into one high priced car. Twenty years ago it may have only generated 20-25K but today they command well over 100K.There is a picture of a 440 commando priced @ 200K, that is 10 times the original value, but almost any V8 'Cuda - from the 440 Commando to the lowly 318 Cu.-in. are bringing in some pretty respectable money. :) The article is mainly Chrysler focused, mentioning Chargers, Dusters, Twisters, and Challengers but imagine if your Mark VIII ever rises to automotive jewellery status.
Muscle cars of the past are gaining in popularity and with the limited Lincoln production we may have a snow balls chance in hell of owning a rare car. Give it another decade and then see what they are worth, if by say 2020 they haven't gone up in value then they never will, but if they are destined for collector's status you'll know before then, the market value will start to increase by 2015. Yes, I know there will always be Naysayers, but I can't help wondering given what these cars are, they are in a class of their own.:D

On edit: A 1994 Mark VIII in reasonable condition sells for $5500.00 Cdn in this neck of the woods. They are highly sought after and not that many available, seems most went to the southern states, fewer of them made it to the Canadian market. It all boils down to supply and demand. With the right promotion these cars can & will get valuable.
