The Undecided Question
By John Cory
t r u t h o u t | Perspective

Sunday 31 October 2004

Much has been made of the lurking "undecided voter" in this campaign. It has been said that these voters are not impressed with either candidate and find no resonating issue to pull their vote one way or the other.

To these "undecided voters," I ask:

How is it, that an administration, so positive and confident that Iraq not only had WMD, but that their exact locations were known; could not find WMD after invading Iraq?

How is it that this administration did not know enough to secure a munitions dump in Iraq and lost nearly 380 tons of high-grade explosives to looters? Explosives that are probably being used against our own troops, even now.

How could Bush and company send "Saint" Rudy Giuliani onto morning television to say, "The actual responsibility for it really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough? Didn't they search carefully enough?" Is that the GOP supporting our troops?

And how is it that this same administration, knows the exact names and addresses of citizens whose votes should be cancelled or otherwise disenfranchised on Election Day, and in exactly which states?

If this administration has been so incompetent in under-manning and under-funding the war in Iraq, what do you think they are doing to America, here at home?

The question and choice is, what is best for America? Truth and competence? Or more lies and incompetence?

What's so hard to decide?
