So after Weeks of overheating problems , being told bad headgasket, took it to Lincoln dealership they bled the cooling system and its fixed. So happy ls back on the road! O WAIT to soon? Now there's a miss at idle and at acceleration occasionally . Happened right after I drive it back from dealership

Now ,.unfortunately on the.way to the dealership for fix car got extremely hot (like over the red) and was shaking and running super rough for maybe 5 seconds before I shut it off. No codes at this time . So anyone with knowledge wanna guess if its bad cops, or much worse , did the overheat probably damage the timing ? Im at my end prolly gnna sell the.car 10k in 2 years and it never ends man. Also doesn't miss until its at operating temp for like 10 mins doesn't miss at cold. Anyone want to share some knowledge ? Id appreciate it

And would an overheat likely damage those ? What's the chance it would damage the timing ? Keep in mind this isn't a coincidence . The overheat did something . Fine before then . And thanks!

Yes, the theory is that heat can push a marginal COP over the edge. I'm not aware of any correlation between overheating and timing chain tensioner failure. Your symptom description does not sound like jumped timing.

Thanks joe. Last thing . If I buy the coils myself and do my research is putting coils in yourself very advanced ? Im a total noob. Like if I watched a step by step video would I be able to do it ?

You really must change the spark plugs at the same time.
It is pretty easy on the V8. The hardest part is getting to a few of the bolts that hold the coil covers on.

so youre saying you did NOT have them fix the headgasket??

It's unlikely that there was ever a headgasket problem to fix on his car. It seems to be a frequent misdiagnosis by people who don't understand it's cooling system.

oh so i guess it was not lincoln who said the headgasket was bad? theres a lot goin on in that OP, but i guess i am following it now. i would just take it back to lincoln and say 'hey its not fixed'

I could do that , but they surely would charge me again . Im broke atm

No . Was other mechanic who.said headgasket. I block tested it myself twice it passed Lincoln" also said it passed their head gasket test

GOTCHA. i thought you said lincoln said headgasket and you refused. i am with you now though.

i would still take it back to lincoln. they should help you for free. they apparently misdiagnosed something. it may take some arguing but i assume you paid for a diagnosis, they said bleeding will fix it and it didnt fix it. therefore they had a faulty diagnosis, heres the car, please diagnose it correctly this time. then when they come back with more suggesstions and apologies for screwing up your first diagnosis just refuse the service til you can afford it or do DIY
