Congrats Mike! That is haulin'... what 60 foot time did you get on the 11.7 run?
 
Wow thats just like my car, well except mines a different color and year and is slower and oh never mind it's got me beat hands down :cool:
 
Thanks Everyone. Serge, That was a 1.918 60'. I really do not care for the steel Marauder wheels and the inner tubed M/T ET Streets that were on the car. I lost at least a 10th on the 60' using those heavy wheels and tubes. I was running 1.80 60's with stock Mark wheels and DR's on the old motor. It also wandered all over the track trying to keep it going straight.

Did not have time to T&T prior to this event, and had problems keeping the silicone hose connector on, that holds the tube leading into the aftercooler. No boost = no go when the tube pops off. There is a ton left in this car though. :)
 
Wow Mike, i'm really impressed. The car definitely has a lot more in it with a better launch... congrats once again on having one of the baddest Mark VIII's ever...
 
I borrowed Aric's old 70k mile straight cut V2 that he is going to put in his wifes car for this event. That thing had the crap beat out of it, and it worked perfect. Vortech sent a brand new HD T-Trim last Thursday, but no time to install and re-tune the car again.
 
Nice times.

If you keep popping the silicone connectors off the boost tube then have the tube rolled to create a lip on it. Then spray a little hairspray on the tube before sliding the silicone connector on and you are good to go. I assume you are already running T-bolt clamps so I won't bother suggesting those.
 
Thanks. Apparently, motor oil distorted the silicone, and there was no way it was going to hold. They did spray something on there, but no good. The problem is on the aftercooler itself - not being able to hold the coupler with the t-bolt clamps. Not sure what they plan to do, or if they can even weld a bead on the aftercooler.

Probably going to put a new silicone connector on there and see what happens.

Any decent performance shop that does custom installs like this should be able to either MIG or TIG a small bead on the aluminum IC inlet/outlet. I am surprised that the IC doesn't already have a small lip on the fittings. Usually that is part of the normal manufacture process.
 
damn man, good times. Get that 60' down some more and you will be getting close to Mike's(burbank98lsc)Black 98... he is pulling a 1.6 60'.. but in the 11.3 quarter range..

Impressive though!. Should pull better with that T trim..

Thanks Guys. The 60' will be coming down. The tubed slicks are not going back on the car. The T-Trim with the HD bearings is at the shop waiting to be installed. The bugs will be worked out for sure, and then it is back to the track for some more tuning. :)
