I have had a pin switch going bad on me for the past few months. Sometimes the interior lights would come on for no reason. I tried the WD-40 band aid and finally, I pushed in on it by hand and let it snap back out a few times and it popped out onto the floor. :p Ordered another one from rockauto, made by Motorcraft and it was only $7.78 to the door. One 15mm socket is all that's needed and a ratchet. Took me 2 min or less and I was done.

Completed pic. I wiped it clean after the pic was taken. Works perfect!

This is the old switch that couldn't be fixed and why even bother?

Part# and box with old switch laying beside it.

Then what had me laughing was the box size they chose for such a little box. It could have been sent in a padded envelope or much much smaller box. Either way, it's all fixed and over with. Going to go ahead and get another one for the other side just so I know that both are new.

Haha nice! And I've seen some people just freak the hell out like OOOH MY GAWD MY LIGHTS ARE STAYING ON AND MY CAR MIGHT EXPLODE! lol Good work, although it sounds like there wasn't much to begin with. ;)

Took me longer to find the socket and ratchet in the small toolbox than it did to swap switches. Why anyone would not just replace the switch is beyond me. My 10 year old son could have fixed that. Loosen, pull it out, unplug, replace rubber onto the new switch, plug in, thread it back in the hole and tighten. Done! Wished all repairs were this easy and cheap.
