So I won another item. Was sold, after a couple e-mails, that the seller was on a buying trip for two weeks.

Waiting again for a response about shipping. He said it would go out last week.

Won on 10/20/08, its now 11/11/08. Another week and it will be a month! I know people have problems and stuff happens to I am pretty forgiving. I know this is not Amazon.com, these are just small guys.

But almost a month? AND to boot he has 6 new negative feedbacks posted in the last few days about this very issue. I have never left negative, this may be a first if I dont have a shipping notification soon.

With yet another auction, for a computer, I had to also pull teeth. That was a seller that is pretty much a company dealing with TONS of equipment. But after 3 messages being told I would have a tracking number the next day it ended up pretty frustrating to get the computer a month later.

And I dont buy or sell much! The above auction where two of three that I had won on!

The only problem I have ever had with eBay is when I tried to SELL a car.

it took 4 listings for someone to actually pay what they bid.

If you pay with Paypal, file a dispute within the 30 day period. Even if you're told it's been shipped, if it's not in your hands, file.

Thats funny, I bought my Mark off of E-Bay kind of, no problems. The seller had his number in the ad, so I called direct.

Paypal is a joke too! They talk a good game until you need help! I closed my paypal account & only buy small ticket items on ebay, That's very rare though.

i just got screwed from a guy on there that bid on over 600 bucks worth of parts last week, he shows one pos feedback, but after we didnt see payment we checked that 1 feedback, since ebays new policy about leaving feedback the person who was dealing with this guy left a pos but in his writing it was all neg, since he couldnt leave neg, he clicked pos but then goes on to tell everyone this ass bid on a car and won it for over 6 grand and never paid for it, well he screwed us out of about 630 bucks too.

Ive been having some real bad luck lately also. I try to buy most of the stuff local if I can. What happened to honest people on ebay? Are we the only ones left?

I was pleasantly surprised when I had a person actually send my item *before* they received my payment (I had mailed a money order).

Another person sent me a hand-written thank you note for the item.

I screwed up once and was a couple days late shipping something out, so I apologized and upgraded his shipping to overnight and paid the extra out of pocket. Got some *cash* back in the mail thanking me for the effort and informing me I hadn't needed to do it.

The only bad experience I had was one of those where I won, paid credit card, and got zero communication from seller & no product. Seller had 99.7% positive feedback. Ebay actually reimbursed my credit card and cancelled the transaction, all it took was two five-minute phone calls to their support lines.

So, yes, honesty is still out there :)

I have only had one bad experience since 1998 doing business on eBay both buying and selling. I bought a used pink Floyd CD rated as like new. Well the case was broken, as was the retaining ring and the CD had over 17 scratches on it. I complained about it, and they offered me a $1 back. I told them I wanted to return it and postage paid both ways because it wasn't as advertised. Never heard another word from them. It was all told, less than $10 but it really makes me now, not trust any used stuff, based on sellers description.
Oh and Jamie's father in law's sales (mopar68gtx) on eBay had at one time, a bad report in here, but not on eBay. I went ahead and bought some used coils packs and got fast shipping and reasonable shipping charges. I gave him high marks. I have since bought a couple of other items from him and no problems. So who had problems on this message board I don't know, but I have had no problems. :)

I've had only one bad experience myself. Bought some seats and after much pestering on my behalf I received the front seats, packaged very poorly I might add. The rear seats never came and never saw any money. As stated above this guy also had all positives until after I bought my seats and it was like 10 negatives within a week. I learned my lesson on buying anything pricey on there.
