Let me first say thank you to all the members...You have all been a big help. I have a 2000 Lincoln LS v6 sport. I bought it on a lease trade in in 2003 with 35k. It just hit 100k in the last week. I had a few problems..nothing major..yet..thank god..I had the blinking airbag light ..32 code..It was the clockspring..which i paid 100 dollars for at the dealership..and the underseat harness which was an easy fix..just rewired the harness and wallla...The light went off..I put snow tires on in the winter..nokian.rsi..they work awesome..I use the factory rims for those and have chrome for the summer with summer performance tires...Every thing is sweet now....Except for one last light on the dash...The traction light is on..first generation..it stay on all the time from startup to shutdown..It does blink when i slip in the rain or snow, but stays on constantly after..Any ideas? I was planning on taking it to the dealer for a diaganosis only and bringing the read out to my best friend who owns his own garage..His scanner shows no codes and he tells me its has to be a ford special scanner..I saw on here it could be a wheel sensor?? Is that in the wheel attached to the valve stem or is it on the hub?? I have no traction problem and it still works because I can feel it and had the car for a while so I know the difference..Ive been searching here and really havent found anything yet...Thank you in advance for your help...:) :) :D :D

my light remained lit when i was changing the brakes once. I simply removed it and re-assembled it and the light went off....maybe an idea

often it is the wheel speed sensor - also used for ABS and speedo.

without the Ford computer you cannot tell which one it is - they are about $45-$55 for each wheel

Wheel Sensor??

Thanks For The Information..where Is The Best Place To Buy Those..ebay?? Also..should I Just Buy One And Switch Them Out Until I Find The One That Is Broken??what Is The Chance That Two Or More Might Be Broken??...where Are They Located On The Wheel??what Does It Look Like??thanks Again For All The Help

If you get the dealer diagnosis, you can buy the correct sensor and replace it. I believe that they are all different, and in the front, it may only be available as a new hub assembly.

My wife drove with a frozen rear caliper and cooked my LS's left rear sensor. I think that they are all a different part number, so you can't go and float a good one through the wheels and leave it where it becomes the fix.

On some product families, as in full size RWD ford/linc/merc vehicles, in the late 90s, there was a corrosion problem on the wheel speed sensor connectors, specifically, where they linked into the ABS computer. A remove and replace of that (large) connector was sometimes enough to re-establish the connection quality. It also can sometimes fix these problems by simply removing and replacing the actual 2-wire connectors at the end of each sensor's harness, where it links into the vehicle's harness. It should shut the light off immediately upon a successful repair.
