Testing orig hid bulbs

Who has tested orig hid's?
I'm guessing just hook up to ballast In car?
Or touch the wires to a battery? (kinda doubting that)..
I scored a spare pair in descent housings today
Amongst other stuff I could save off of the car in the yard
Before it goes to the crusher .
Finally found a descent black front bumper too.

Many thanks for the input , like to know they work
Before I start polishing the lenses.

12 power supply on my bench to the ballast worked fine for me.

May have to try that but what I didn't get was the extra ballast.

yeah, you're gonna need a factory ballast. this DC HID stuff is rare. everything is AC HID now.
