If you got steam coming out of the degas bottle, check it next time to see if its actually boiling. If its actually boiling over, The top culprits are ussually a faulty water pump or stuck t-stat
for being a tech and owning an ls, youre not very helpfull. so thanks for nothing!!!
dang. Don't jump on fast. One of the good guys around here.

I would take the Thermostat out because I have heard of brand new Thermostats not functioning properly..
Same goes for all parts, which I would include a water pump in that mix
:blah: :jokeSince I get b!tched at if I don't do it..

Please note that the cooling system design is such that it may take several tries to get enough air out of the system to stop the tendency to overheat.

Well I'm not Joe, but the next thing I would do would be to back flush the radiator.
drove about fifty miles today without overheating! when i turned the heat off it starts to climb, turn it on and heard something near my feet like a motor trning or something, dont know what it is yet. finally enjoyed a ride in my ls!!!!
there are several little motors that move dampers to determine where the ac/heater air comes from and comes out of. You probaby heard the one that opens the floor vents. Works as designed...
