temp gauge

If you got steam coming out of the degas bottle, check it next time to see if its actually boiling. If its actually boiling over, The top culprits are ussually a faulty water pump or stuck t-stat

yes it seems to be boiling and ive replaced both thermostat and waterpump, still overheating. i really want to fix it before i loose all interest which im getting there. the hoses dont seem to have alot of pressure, i can squeezed them when hot.

You might haave a bad water pump. I know you changed it, but if you arent getting proper system pressure then the WP is bad, or you have an air leak somewhere. These cars have problems with the plastic parts. I know that you changed the tree, but there ae other crappy plastic parts that may have failed. My car over heats about oncea year and a proper bleeding always fixes the problem. I realize that you have already bled, but it might be worth trying again. I obviously am losing some coolatnt somewhere, but I dont know where as it is a small amount.

Please note that the cooling system design is such that it may take several tries to get enough air out of the system to stop the tendency to overheat.

I noticed the rad cap seems to not be tightening and today no heat. Temp thru the roof. Im getting a new degas bottle and try again.
Thanks for all input and help in this matter.

I replaced the radiator cap because it wasnt sealing right and bleed the system seems to be ok we'll find out on da way home

drove about fifty miles today without overheating! when i turned the heat off it starts to climb, turn it on and heard something near my feet like a motor trning or something, dont know what it is yet. finally enjoyed a ride in my ls!!!!

Well I'm not Joe, but the next thing I would do would be to back flush the radiator.

Agree.
Radiator, thermostat, hydraulic fan or water pump. Since it cools with the heater on, it seems like it has to be one of those things. The hydraulic fan seems less likely than normal to be the issue due to the temperatures out right now.

There are several little motors that move dampers to determine where the AC/heater air comes from and comes out of. You probaby heard the one that opens the floor vents. Works as designed...
