Has anyone ever swapped out the front end of a Gen 1 with a Gen 2. I have the front bumper already, but I have a question about the lights. Will the old headlights and foglights fit right into the new housings. And are there any mods that I need to make the bumper fit on, like different bolt holes? I was gonna sell the Ls but now I am making it some what of a project car.
maybe removing the drivetrain and computers and going with a new set up, Thinking 351 possibly. But that is a project for later on.

Be a little more specific on which bumpers you are swapping out. Are you converting from an Gen 1 to a Gen 2 LSE bumper or what?

What you see here is a 2000 Lincoln LS with a all 2006 Front bumper with (shock absrorber bar), Grille, OEM XENON headlights with reinforcment bar , hood, cowl (where washer jets have been relocated was on hood) and both front fenders which are no different. I also am waiting to find a drivers rear tailight and folding drivers mirror to upgrade those to the 06 also.

ALSO if you are talking about mixing and matching LSE`s I have the side and rear skirt from a 2002 LSE.

Everything pretty much fit right in the only thing left is the inner fender wells need to be a little longer. But nobody else has had any real problems with them. I think the bumper can just be changed with out anything other then new fog light connectors. The headlights need a new mount panel and a little rewiring. Hood, Fenders, Grille, and Cowl are a bolt on.

Bit of an odd question, what about going from a Gen II front bumper to a Gen I without changing anything else? I have an idea to add cornering lights using the turnsignal holes in the Gen I front bumper.
