Hey guys. Im a new member and I enjoy reading everyones comments and figured I would join in. I have a 2000 LS without audiophile and wanted to get your guys opinions.
My bro-in-law gave me 2 Pioneer 12" subs w/ box and a Kenwood amp (KAC-7201) 800 watt max. Do you think that will be a good fit for the LS?
I have also been searching for as much info as I could about installing the amp & subs but am still lost. I have the line converter already but how do I go about splitting the rear speaker wires? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i have 2 10inch Pioneers run to a 600watt amp i believe... your setup shud work just fine... good luck and welcome!

Your best bet will be to splice into the rear speaker output, whether that is behind the actual radio, or from the doors themselves. Taking the dash off is pretty easy actually and taking out the radio from there is a piece of cake. All you will have to do is splice into the rear speaker output from the radio and tie in the inline converter. Once you have done that, you will need to run RCA's from the converter back to where the amp is at. Then run a power and ground and amp turn on and you will be all set.

thanks, Eli. I think I will try connecting from the rear first. It seems that some do it that way, just because it would be a lot easier to connect the RCA cable. Otherwise I will go thru the HU. I'll post pics to if you guys are interested.

Radio Problems

Did anyone have this problem?

I went to Best Buy to have a (Alpine 600w Mono amp) and a box with 3 10" Rockford Fosgates installed and ever since then the radio keeps going into (audio mute mode) and when i try to unmute it throught the steering wheel control, the mute button changes the radio from cd to radio or from station to station!!! Almost like if the radios got a demon in it! I think its the steering wheel remote, but not a hundred % sure... My stereo consists of the (Factory Alpine in-dash 6 disk changer) = 2 panel speakers = 4 doors (6x8) = 2 (6x9) on the rear deck... Any help gladly appreciated!!!!!!!

I have heard that when the clockspring goes bad, the clockspring is this little thing behind your steering wheel in the steering column, that it messes with your Radio controls and the Cruise control. But up until this point, the first thing that people notice is there airbag light come on. Search "Clockspring" and you will probobly find what you are looking for.
Late,
Elisha
