So yeah I know all the V8's have them. But it seems to me they are less rigid than a set of aftermarket SFC's for any other vehicle. Anyone thought about swapping them out for something more sturdy?

I have for the cosmetic benifit if nothing else, i look at that and can practicly feel the engineers going "awww :q:q:q:q its too weak.... um...... (digs through some junk in the corner) here this should do! stick those right there...."

I don't know. The bars are there for crash protection.

uhhhhhhh..... roight

The early build cars didn't have them. You can ask Jonathan Crocker (he's no longer with Ford and I lost track of him) if you like. But, think what you like......

pics? I'm not sure what you are talking about. I have an idea, but a pic would sure help.

I agree they may be there for crashes and stuff.... but the reason I want them is handling.....

Mr wiper blade, I'll snag a photo later. They are the two rectangular bars running parallel with the frame connecting your tranny mount to the frame.

I think most gains are still in shocks/springs. the stock LS is good - but there are always trades with performance and ride comfort - so if you only care about perofrmance you should be able to really move the needle with an expensive pair of shocks - then dial in the rebound.
