Sub in Stock Head Unit

So it turns out i wont be able to get the pioneer avic f900bt. I already have a sub to put in though and there are no rca cables in the back of the head unit. I searched the site for a how to, or if its possible. I found some good stuff but i was wondering if someone could give me a step by step on how to...or direct me a link that will. PLEASE HELP!...THANKS
 
i got a memphis audio 6ix, a little spendy but works was better then a cheapo. it doesnt kill any sound at all like i have seen cheaper ones do before. also comes with a bass knob so you can mount it anywhere. check into that
 
get an inline converter ($8), splice into one rear speaker running a positive and negitive to the converter. Then you have a place to run you RCAs to the amp.. all your wires are in the trunk, no need to tuck and hide wires!
 
If your amp has line levels in then you don't need the converter. Tap off the rear speakers and wire to amp. Run power and fuse from battery to trunk. connect sub to amp and pound away.
 
what about those with the factory sub? i was thinking about stealing the factory connections from that to run a couple subs. the power and grounds for the new amp would obviously be ran independently from the battery like usual.
 
you can solder rca ends onto the signal wires that are in the trunk for the factory subs, then no adapter needed, plus the factory radio only sends low freqs.
 
awesome info thanks, is the quality still as good as hooked up to an aftermarket head unit? i have never done this before i dont know whats needed, ive only replaced head units and speakers and done a bazooka tube cus it was free(not in the LS)

im my opinion no, but if you use quaility parts you can still have a very nice stereo. with my memphis audio 6ix it filters out most of the lower tones and sends them through my amp then to my subs, you can still get some distortion but its a stock deck so you cant expect the best. i actually just blew my memphis sub and am not very interested in replacing it so i might have that memphis unit available for sale if anybodys interested. also a 1000.1 watt jvc arsenal amp.
 
You can still use the f900bt. It comes with 3 rca preamp outputs. Front, rear and sub. Read specs here

Get the fosgate 3sixty.1 or whatever, its on their site, it goes into the factory head unit and gives you like 4 outputs, plus it does automatic filters and distribution for you, thats if you doing subs an speakers mostly, but its the closest thing to aftermarket youll get.

the OP never said that it wouldnt work with the factory subs, he just said he will no longer be able to get it.

it is however very easy to hook it up to the stock subs, the corect wire harness comes with an extra plug that has rca's and a turn on wire in it, all you do is plug the rca's into the sub out and plug the harness into the factory sub harness and put a resistor inline with the amp turn on wire so that you dont get the dreaded turn on "POP"



and for the price of a rockford 3sixty (even though it is spendy, it is a great piece of equiptment) he could buy a F700BT and then not need it.
