Sub and Amp

This is what I have in the trunk. IMO, you wouldn't need this much bass. A good 10" sub would be fine. I have a Directed Audio 12" dual voice coil, running 900W RMS. It's loud when I want, and just filling the low end when it's turned down to a respectable level. How much room are you wiling to sacrifice?

Of course, the head unit really helps with the total sound produced. Just upgrading to a Sony from the stock one would be an improvement. I happened to score an awesome deal on a Kenwood Excelon DDX 7015 double din DVD for 400 bucks shipped. I've upgraded the door speakers to Eclipse SP5700, witht the front tweeters flush mounted up higher on the doors. Some people don't like it, but it works great for movies. I love the full surround sound it has now.

Total spent on sub and amp:

Sub: 127.00
Box: 50.00
Amp: 299.00 (Kenwood KAC9104-D)
Wiring/blade fuse/etc. : 50.00

I have an infinity Basslink that I will be looking to sell in the near future or sooner if interested. I will let it go for $125 shipped.

Surprisingly decent bass and built in amp.

if thats too much, a used setup may be what you want. i have a 10" dual magnet, dual 4 ohm voice coil JBL (275rms) with a 200 watt kenwood amp. its beat up but I may let it go for cheap.

If you can make a complete box for $30 then you should go into the box building business because I just got done making one for my car and materials alone cost me about $65.

$27 for the MDF $3 for the silicone and $3 for the screws, round down and you get $30. You can add carpet and other stuff like terminals as well-for more money.

i have 2 10 inch kicker cvr's with box for sale, theyre very crisp and itll leave u some room in the trunk to work with. $150 plus shipping, need to get rid of em

easy tiger, its just an estimate. my point was its a fart in a windstorm compared to the speaker and amp and wiring, or buying a complete box. i already had the screws, and carpet from autozone, so i bought the mdf and new adhesive and was done for under $30.

mine is ported so i used pvc i already had and radiused the edge and sprayed it satin black. had all the tools too so i suppose it could get costly if you dont already have this stuff.

well i guess its a good thing I am in the box building business, because most of the boxes i build cost between $25-$35 to make. hell, the box i built for my 2 L7's only cost less than $40

True if you have some of the materials already but majority of people don't have a sheet of MDF, screws, liquid nails, and carpet just laying around. I said that if you have to buy everything than it will cost you more than $30.

That is why I said a COMPLETE box. Who builds a box that is not covered or have the terminals? I know I wouldn't make or buy one without those two things.

Wow 27 for MDF? i get mine for 20, terminals are like 3 bucks, :q:q:q:q carpet, ill spray paint the box LMAO, but i just made 3 boxes outta a sheet of MDF board, its not that hard, you just gotta know how to convert inches to ft3.

I dont know, but this thread could possibly turn into a suggestions/what i got kind of set up for the LS owners, or audiophiles, SPL heads, etc. Ill name my top 5 audio brands...in case anybody doesnt know some of the brands i know

1. Digital Designs (Sub and Amp)
2. Planet Audio (Sub, Amp, and HU)
3. PowerBass (Subs)
4. Sundown Audio (Amps)
5. Focal/Morel (Door speakers)

can keep this going, just i seen about 5-10 audio heads including myself, thought i'd be a good idea

2 bolts=terminals, as far as who wouldn't carpet a box- those that change setups quite a bit.
Check out the forums on caraudio.com to check out uncarpeted and unpainted boxes.

Audioque and DD are related right, isnt it like the nephew went off and made DD? i forget the story. How do them CDT's sound? Im thinking about gettin the DD3515 with the z1 amp to go with it, i like SPL...LOTS OF IT, im hearing impared too LOL. When i was 15 i got a hearing test, i had like 8-9% total hearing both ears, after a year of havin the OLD RF P1's, or the HE10's, my hearing got up to 11%. LMAO

Sorry but I haven't heard of many of those brands, but I do know that morel and focal make some good speakers. I have always gone with Memphis subs because I think they are the best bang for the buck. I held the MS state record for almost 3 years with 2 15" Memphis HPO subs. This was a legal competition that was metered from the dash and I could not rev my car above 2,000 rpm's. I hit a 149.8 and granted that was 5 years ago, but not bad for just two 15's off an Orion HCCA 225.
