Stupid License Plate Holder...

Ok... I was gonna get it re riveted on... but of course I waited too long... stupid thing just disappeared... so yeah... you guys know of any generic or universal license plate holders that'll look alright on my 97' mark?... I wish I didn't have to put it back on... looks so much nicer without... stupid laws!!

I have not found one that works well. If you can find a damage one cheap you can use bondo to rebuild the frame and then paint it. My local auto parts store can order color matched bombs for touch up jobs.

I have one that I just fixed up for my 93 but my daughter did a little damge to it this winter so I need to see if she lost her plate holder.

yeah I might just try and fab one up... just take a generic one and try to ninja rig it up... the stearlership wants too much for one of these

I have a black gen 2 one sitting in the garage, pm me if interested, the dealership actually doesn't carry these anymore it has been discontinued like a lot of other Mark VIII parts.

I've not checked the 2nd Gen ones out, but the dealers can still get 1st Gen ones. I bought one last year. You can get some colors still (painted) but the unpainted ones (black) are 1/4 or less of those prices...

Why not just buy a new paint to match?? The gen 2 p/n is a F7LZ-17A385-XXPTM listing for 48.08 and LVC at $36.06 and there are plenty available.
