Stuck hood

I'm new here so I apologize if I am posting in the wrong section. I closed the hood on my 95 LSC just now and it is not releasing with the handle on the inside. What is the best way to get the hood open?

I locked my keys under my hood recently, I didn't choose to call the locksmith and had to take the hinge bolts out. The plastic covers pull out of the way. You'll need at least two, ideally three people total. the air shocks wreak havoc, and you have to stay patient while getting the hood off the latch so you don't mess everything up. Just wiggle it around, make sure you have help that's not so irresponsible as to chip paint off your hood or fenders while moving it around.

Maybe I am misunderstand this answer, but if you get under the front of the car and have LONG arms, you might be able to pop the latch by reaching up and yanking on the cable-I cannot imagine how you'd get the hinge bolts off without getting the hood open first...

Have someone push down on the hood while you pull the inside handle. It might pop open for you.

Then have at it with the wd-40

does it feel like the cable is hooked up to the handle inside? If not if you can reach up through under the bumper cover to where the cable runs into the latch there should be a little "tab" that the cable sits in at the latch assembly. You need to move that "tab" to get the hood to pop. Simply pulling on the cable won't do anything. If the cable is hooked up inside you might simply need to pull up on the hood while someone pulls the latch. Also sometimes the latch will be tripped, but the hood stuck and pulling up on it will get it to release as well. There just isn't enough spring to actually let it "pop"

Got it. I removed the 2 - 8mm bolts that hold the latch assembly to the body by using a looooonngg extension through the grill. Once those bolts were out I was able to reach underneath the car, behind the grill and manually release the secondary lock. The hood came up with the latch assembly/cable still attached. The latch assembly was seized.

You might be able to find a nicer used one at a local yard for cheap.
