So I have some strange stuff going on.

Vehicle Info
2002 Lincoln LS v8 sport
103,xxx miles
No Misfires, no vacuum leaks
No know issues other than MAF problem I am trying to figure out

Issue(s)
Check Traction Contro
Gear Select Data Error
Fuel Computer Data Error
Flashing PATS Light (no pattern just really fast flashing forever)
Tach is blank, no RPMS
Temp Gauge blank

The issues all came up at up at once, but the car drove fine. I got to my Girlfriends house and tried to restart it, that's when I noticed the pats light, it would turn over but not run. I pressed the unlock button on the OEM fob and it ran, and everything was fine, I backed into the driveway and then the same issues.

I do have an aftermarket Alarm system.

Also Car shifts through all gears fine no hard shift, and goes into reverse and drive fine. I am thinking computer related but have no clue. Perhaps its just the guage cluster that is junk, I have all new fuel related parts, well less than 12 months old, from pump and relays to the rail is new (other than lines)

Engine warms up fine, no coolant leaks

Sounds like a fault (such as a short or open) on the vehicle data bus.

I assume that by "blank" you mean that the needle remains at zero. If the needle is missing or the face of the gauge is really blank, then you do have a weird problem...

In terms of the PATS, how long is forever?

My car just recently did those things (issues list)
my happened because of a scanner. i plugged it in, put the car to acc/on, then it went blank, pats light flashed fast, and all my lights (except reverse) were on. I tried unlocking, locking, starting. Nothing. Ao i did the only thing i could think of, disconnect the battery. that solved whatever the car was doing. Started up and has been fine since (about a week)

Okay, so I disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes and tool it for a drive. It seemed fine but on my way home ~20 minute drive, it started acting up again.

This time it would flash gear select data error then go away and come back and so on. The RPM and temp needle both drop then the message center flashes the fuel computer error and check traction control... This is bizarre, it drives fine double checked the coolant level and its good(probably unrelated, all fluids at appropriate levels) could it be the cluster, also if this is an OBD II issue will my scanner show (I assume it will give an issue connecting type message) also is that correctable.

This has me baffled.

I would check all your wiring for your car alarm. I would get fuel data computer error when my alarm was first hooked up. I had it rewired (correctly) and the issue was resolved.

When you scan it does it come up with an ID-10T error at all ?

On a related topic I did plug in the scanner on my way back to work, and no issues. I think it may be bus related.

although if it was a data bus short or fualt, I would imagine the scanner wouldn't be able to connect.

I was talking to another member about your LS issues. He immediately ask me if you had an aftermarket alarm???? If you do, the alarm could causing the cluster problems. Just my $.02.

CLUSTER problems.

see, told ya ... :thread:

well. came back today, so i think I will check to see if i still have a warranty on the my alarm, I think the module itself has a life time so if it is that, I will get it replaced.

Okay so the shop who installed the alarm is going to look at it ( lifetime ) warranty on all work so I will know then.

i hope my car "breaks" while being looked at, just ran some errands and of course no issues. It'll be just my luck to not break when i have the time to get it looked at.

I hope its related to the alarm, so then it can be fixed and done with.

On positive note I just had new tires mounted. BF Goodrich G-Forces

well the shop just called, nothing wrong with the alarm, and I haven't had the issue come up in the past couple of days, so i have no clue what the issue was or is
