strange drop in rpm

When I come to a stop light sometimes my rpm drop very low almost stalling.
I have tried it with the AC on/off, lights on/off, radio on/off, still the same.

My thoughts are probably a bad alternator......

Today I tried something else....When at a full stop I turned the steering wheel. Rpms dropped way low and stalled......any deas?

This is not an everyday issue though...kind of strange

I have also had multilpe bad coils with the same signs, but I could usually beat the crap out of the car and get it to throw a code. I can"t get anything from the car now though.
 
possible misfire? i think it could be alternator tho since it is a 2000 it could be near its end if its the first one still
 
My v6 would act kinda simialar...I would pull up to stop and a couple seconds later it would die(I have a auto). My car hasover 100k and come to find out it was the pcv elbow and valve were bad. so I changed it and now probems since...hope this helps
 
I'd also look at the IAC valve. Try turning on the A/C in the same situation. If the A/C is already on when this happens, try the same situation with it off. The IAC is used by the engine management firmware to maintain idle speed, and does this by allowing or shutting down air flow around the throttle plate as needed. Since it is a motorized part, it is possible that it has become stuck in one position, and that position would be an ideal position for only one actual condition in real operation. On my V6 manual, turning the wheel while at idle makes the idle speed jump up to compensate for the extra load required for the hydraulics of the steering to operate.

You were recently going to change coils, plugs, and the pcv and hose. Did this work get done yet? If it did, did the timing of this new problem happen to coincide with the work being done? Did the elbow on the PCV get changed? This could also be the cause of this problem, but it sounds to me that it is more related to lack of idle air compensation.
 
Sorry bro, I totally spaced on the IAC details. It is on the throttle body, a device larger than a D-cell battery with a cable plugging into its end, kind of pointing at the radiator area (the cable connector).

Did you end up getting the intake removed and the coils and PCV changed?

It may be helpful if you remove the connector and re-seat it on the IAC valve.

IAC stands for idle air control.

Thanks for the help....
I found the issue.....The sleeve holding my intake to the throttle body had a small tear in it. I replaced the sleeve, and did what u mentioned about the IAC seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks again.
