Should say "Stopped and looked AT a car," but oh well....

The other day, I was driving by a used car place and noticed a "new" Mark VIII sitting there that wasn't there previously. I could see that it said 97 on the windshield and that it was a base model, but couldn't tell what the price was. It didn't look spectacular or anything, but it also didn't look like a total POS (from the road). I didn't have time to stop and look at it that day, but I did find it on the place's website.
Scroll down, it's on the left
$4995!! Surely this car must have something special that I couldn't see from the road! Anyway, last night on the way home, I stopped and checked it out. They'd be lucky to get $1000 for that car.
As I walked up, I noticed that there are holes in the rear quarter panel and one in the quarter window trim. The bottom of the rear glass seal is gone too. "Hey! This car used to have a gag top." I say to myself.
Take the pictures of MannieG's car right after the top was removed and pretend it's Toreador Red and you've got this car. They didn't even clean the crap up. It had the holes all along the top of the door frame too. I can't imagine it could have looked worse even with a ragged top on it.
The interior on this 90k mile car looked worse than my $900 97 Base with 150k miles. Granted, it wasn't the worst I've seen, but it was definitely not up to par for a $5000 car. I would expect it on a $1500 car.
Oh, and there were door dings all the way down the side of the car. The passenger door looked kinda ripply cuz of all the dings.
I walked around the car a couple times looking at it, trying to stir up someone inside to come out and talk to me, but no one did, so I don't know if the HID's and neon worked or any of the other common stuff.

I guess on the up-side, it did have the in-dash CD player. ;)

KK should come down and buy it just for that! :p
