So, this morning on the way to work, I am stopped at a light. I look over at the reflection of my car on a store window, and I notice that I have no brake lights. Then, I press down a little harder on the pedal, and they go on. Hmm.
I am thinking I need a new switch, or an adjustment. Is the switch adjustable, or just replaceable. I didn't have time to stick my head in there to look, plus, it's too dang cold out there.
Thanks.

The bushing and/or switch is probably shot. There is not really any adjustment.

Thanks for the diagrams Driller. Seems like if that bushing were worn, it wouldn't activate the switch properly. Probably a dealer item. If that's the problem I will print those and stop by the Ford dealer.

It's a very common part... the complete switch(I think with bushing & washer) is $20-$25 If I remember correctly.
