I drive in a rush hour traffic alot on the highway going from 0-20 MPH. My 1-2 shift is at 15 MPH (SCT TUNE) and 2-3 shift at 26 MPH. Is it better if I keep the car in first gear if you are in this situation, so it doesn't keep switching from 1-2 at 15 MPH? or keeping it at second gear better so it doesn't reachh that high of an RPM at 20 MPH which would happen in first gear?

and i wouldn't be harming anything this way right? It should be better for the transmission because it doesn't have to shift back and forth IMO.

I would leave it in drive and let it do its thing... its a car with an auto, you buy it so you don't have to think in traffic...

not going to debate the 1-2 or auto setting,

but if you choose to use setting other than D,, i suggest 2nd like the others said.

if you are basically coasting, verylight throttling i think one gear is best and these cars can pull decent from a dead stop in 2nd ,so very light throttle will do no harm in my opinion.

I vote leave it in second for the stop and go traffic to be nice to the tranny
but I love my 1-2 shift to much to do that personally
