I've never dealt with abs problems before, so reaching out for advice/exerience on getting my abs/traction control 100%

1 I did a search that basically tells me the sensors are no loner available fr a '98, but I find them on ebay?

Are these not the correct replacements?

2. I plan on going to Auto Zone tomorrow to have them scan my car. Will they be able to tell me what is triggering the abs light? Thought about buying a scanner but would rather spend the money on fixes if AZ can diagnose it for me.

I just pulled the front abs sensors out of a 98 yesterday. They don't look like the first ebay link you posted. Very doubtful that they would work. The second link you posted looks like the front sensors in 93-97 Mark viii's, which are still available. I don't think any 98 abs sensors are still available new. As far as the zone pulling codes, I don't know, they might be able to pull correct abs codes.

abs

Are the abs sprockets and sensor clean? I over greased my front end parts and the sprocket and sensors were black with crud. It like baked on the sensors and cleaner would'nt take it off. I scraped it off and they measured(ohms) the same as the new ones I installed.

I am in the process of pulling wheels and cleaning the abs sensor and sprocket while I clean my air bags and coat with silicone. I'm also going to pull the sensor connections to make sure they are clean, then put some dilectric grease on them. This is a very clean southern car with no visible corrosion of ANYTHING! Amazingly clean for a 15 year old. Makes it much easier/fun to work on, although my '93 Miata was pretty clean. Unlike the Miata, the Lincoln has no leaks:).

I still remember the first time I crawled under a car at a u-pull-it in Ft. Lauderdale. The underside looked like the car just came off the show room floor! Gotta love southern cars!!! :D

sensors

If you are looking for 98 front sensors I have some, $50 pair plus shipping or $125 with the abs unit. Thanx Bruce

Thanks Bruce. Didn't get a chance to go to auto zone for the scan today. I had my headlight pulled out and found the plastic clear cover on the back side had broken clips, so I used clear silicone to seal it back up (it fogged up when I washed the car). Hopefully I'll get there tomorrow and find out what I need. That's a great price and I'll pm you if I need them. Thanks.
Bob.
