what is the mark8 stock converter stall(93)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and does anybody know what the stock converter stall is on a 2002 mustang gt,,I heard 2500??? cause I have both mk and stang both out of a 4r70w of course, and I am changing my trans and want to put the converter with the bigger stall of course

I dont think the stang Tq/c will line up with the flex plate of the mark. I know a couger/t-bird wont. If you get a flex plate from a 4.6 stang it might.

As far as a stall number it's like 1800 for the mark.

On my 94 and my friends 97 it 'feels' like about a 2200 stall. I don't know about interchangeability from an 02 Stang, but I've seen an aftermarket converter taken off a 302/aode and used on a Mark...

The Marauder and Mach Verts are the same stall range.

The stock Mark VIII stall is 1500 to 1650 rpms true stall with the brake on.
Actual rated stall is in the 2200 to 2700ish.

REAL stall is what you can read on your tach while holding the brake and gas together before spinning the tires.

REAL good l;aunch results come from "Flashing" the converter from a dead idle, this is really only successful when you have slicks or drag radials because of the wheelspin factor but on a good, well prepped track you can get very good results with stock tires after some practice.

Heres my car from a dead idle flash on 275/40 17 regular radials, almost tippy toeing the left front wheel.

Just measure and make sure it is the same size as your Mark converter, they use the 11.25" unit. The stall for all the 11.25" is relatively the same, no real noticable difference. That being said the 04 rauder/Mach 1 unit uses the best internal components.

ok I was told that the 02 mustang gt converter will bolt right in and it had a 2500 stall,I hate the wrong info but I will match them up when I get my other converter

I used the 04 gt converter that came with my trans. One difference is that it doesnt have a drain plug on it.
