Last week my 97 started to act up. When you go to start it up it takes a couple of cranks. Not an electrical issue seems like it's a gas issue. I thought
it was water in the tank or bad gas. I put dry gas 93 octane and some octane boost buti still does not start right up. Any ideas? Oh the fuel filter is 6 months old could it be fuel pump?

Air filter!
Remeber that fire is an animal, it needs fuel AND oxygen

had the same problem last week, the valve in the fuel pump was worn so it would drain all the gas that was in the line back into the tank, therefore the time to crank it was building up pressure. dose it stumble a little when it dose finally start

yeah try this:
turn key on wait five seconds then try and start it

still long crank ok next step

turn the key on count to five then turn it off and repete a few times then crank it

any better?

if yes for either of these problems id say pump or the rare occasion fuel psi regulator

I know it is most likely a weak pump or even a semi restricted fuel filter but remember just before Laser changed his motor he had the same issue and it was resolved with 8 new COPs? Just throwing something else out there if the key on test does not produce results. I would say weak pump or restricted filter myself.
