Took off the lense. This was hard but it turned out pretty well. I looked at LsUnV2's pics for help. I dremmeled the outter lip off the housing like suggested which was needed to be done. It took about an hour. Then, I used a flathead to carefully break the bond with the under part of the lense. and the housing. After another hour I was able to gently pry it apart. It looks better than I thought it would, more pics..

I had to remove the black plastic housing. I will also have to cut the inner back part of the headlight housing for the bi-xenon part to fit.

Just a mock up of where it will be.

I ordered E46 shrouds that kind of have the same design of our highbeam part of the assembly. They should be here Monday or Tuesday.
I'll post more to this when I finish this week.

WOW your fast I just sent them out. Are you going to make the bi-xenon functional? If so how do you plan on doing that. I was just going to leave them on HIGH all the time. Good Luck and can`t wait to see the finished product.

I am fast! I got the projectors in the mail i think on Wednesday. The bixenon will be functional. Theres a guy on here that had a wiring diagram that he did in his Gen I's. I just have to research what some of these symbols mean!...here it is.

I had to take those black brackets off and use spacers to harness the solenoid with one screw. The projectors are great, thanks agiain.

If you left them on high all the time, there would be no cutoff and the lights would be blinding. Do you mean low with the solenoid nonfunctional?

Are you doing the projectors for the high and low beam? I'm interested in this for my gen 1 and was actually talking about doing this the other day because although I like hid's the light scatter is terrible in the halogen housings.

There's no reason to do projectors for the high beams because i have the bi-xenon headlights. The halogens highs will be just fine. The scatter is terrible in the Gen I's. I do not recommend it. I had HID's in my Gen I's for like 4 months and I hated it. I was never happy.

Those symbols are gates. I recognize some of them from Computer Science class, but electrical engineering is completely different.

Here is a list of most the gates for electrical circuits.

Sorry, those aren't gates.

The symbols are diodes, a relay, a capacitor, and a resistor.
The relay is one of the standard automotive relays. Just look for one with those terminal numbers.
The diodes aren't spec'd, but probably 1N4007 diodes would be okay. Please note the direction these are installed in is important.
The capacitor is 1000 u (micro) F (Farad). I would get 16 V or higher. The direction (polarity) is again important.
The resistor is 10,000 ohms. Probably 1/4 Watt would be okay. There is no polarity to worry about.

So if I go with a dual projector set up will I still have to mess with all of this because this is not my area of expertise

I like how that turned out :)

How hard was it to remove the lense from the headlight housing? I'm thinking about polishing mine to get rid of oxidation and i have moisture getting into one of my housings which doesn't look good at all.

Taking them apart wasnt that bad. You just have to make sure you cut right along the edge of the housing. Then make sure you dont scratch anything while prying it apart. Way harder than the Gen I headlights though! lol
