squeaking sound and light grinding feel to steering wheel

Glad to hear they didn't bitch about the Eibach's. I had my steering rack replaced on my 2000 V8 right before the warranty ran out on it. I brought it to the dealer for an "oil change" (needed an excuse to have it there for them to give it a once over to see if they could find anything that would be covered before the warranty expired.)

well my friend up there is the service manager and he said they were gonna try and f with me over the lowering ... i think he was pulling my leg..3000 dollars for the extended warranty up to 97,000 miles is really paying off. i think a rack is around 700 plus labor and alignment. sweeet. new speakers too ,,,yes...................

i wrote them a list of things wrong with the car and they fixed everything.

She is in the shop this morning getting her new boobies, oh i mean rack lol. also new speakers and new idler pulley, i love warranties, So far i have had a new rear control arm, sway bar and bushings, end links, rack, idler pulley, 2 rear deck speakers, O its so sweet, next i will try to get a new set of stock HID, I will mysteriously notice some water in them lol:shifty:

How did you know your rear subs were bad? Mine have a slight rattle on certain kinds of bass, but on most kinds of bass it sounds fine. I don't turn the base up or anything.

it would only work sometimes , they tested and said it was a bad speaker

f-ing bull!!!!! they just told me that they are no vioding my warranty for anything steering or suspension related on my car ,,,, can they do this

yep so i guess ill just turbo my car and blow the motor so i get my fill of warranty claims lol. whatever ford. a holes

Are they still covering the parts that it's in for now?

If you are worried about it, go back to stock springs, and sell your eibach's to me :D

This noise is a very well known issue in 2003 and some 2004 cars. My 2003 LS had it. Do you hear it more at low speeds, like in a parking garage?

There is a TSB (Ford Technical Service Bulletin) about it, TSB #10-04-01, which describes the fix. The first fix is adding Motorcraft Friction Modifier XL-3 to the Power Steering pump. In some cases this fixes the problem. If it does not, the second way to fix it is to replace the steering rack. Cost for this is about $800 if your car is not under warranty.

I have this same problem (2006). Dealer just called and said they are going to replace the steering rack. If it weren't still under warranty I would of course go try the friction modifier first...

I had the same deal too. I mentioned the friction modifier to the guy who fixed it before they figured out it was the rack (replaced steering column and more before they figured it was rack) and he said that wouldn't help. Just an fyi.
