Yeah all these different senarios came to mind. Sales tax VS shipping? does anyone know about Dayco and Gates? Where they are made? Who says OEM isn't made in China now?

I would say EVEN IF.. the OEMs were chinese.. and a couple of dollars MORE, I would STILL buy them from MAX, rather than a chain/chinese store.
Max supports our community.. he doesnt have to come in here and give price quotes..
Do you see any autozone or oreilly people in here giving price quotes, part numbers.. or "LVC pricing"?

Look you don't need to convince me. In the last 60 days I have bought from Max 2 headlight assemblys, 1 alternator,1 PVC assembly, hoses and all.
Oh and a couple of years ago complete tuneup supplies spark plugs ect.

All I know is the difference in quality when I put my new gates belt next to my new OEM belt. Buy Max...

I ordered it from Max yesterday.
Good Job ... we keep Max happy Max keeps us Happy...
I just went thru this.
Gates belt change and idler pulley.
Has less than 3000mi on it and squeak-squeak-squeak. It was embarrassing sitting at a stop light.
So I buy and install the tensioner pulley. Still squeaked.
I spray a little laq. thinner on the belt. It quieted right up for about 30sec.
I spray it again. Same thing but now I can tell there is a noise coming from the alt.
Pull the alt and had the bearings changed in it. The back one was not great.
Reinstall the alt. Squeak-squeak-squeak.
Go down and get another new Gates belt. I get home and he gave me the wrong one.
I had the 3000mi belt off already.
Back to the store with both belts. Get my money back on the wrong one and they warranty the 3000mi one.
Install the new belt. No more squeak.
Spent about $130 total.
Gates is all I will run and have been for 20+ years. This is the 1st belt I've ever had to warranty. It's $32 thru O'Rilieys.
Gates does not make a Green Stripe belt for this application. If they did that is what I'd buy.

My first squeak squeak was about 4 years ago when I let jiffy lube change the belt. I bought supposedly an exact replacemnt belt made by Dayco, I think. If this new FORD belt tensioner assembly from Max does not fix it I will then go back to Max for a belt. I know only too well the embarrasement feeling.

Well the new belt tensioner got rid of the squeaking noise. YES!
