got a problem. When it is dewy outside i get no spark at all. Just replaced the coil and coil wire then ran again but that was when it was a bout 70 degrees out then brought it home and then tonight it got dewy outside and nothing again if anyone could help it would be great. Thanks

hey try a new dist cap, those were famous for if the get slightly wet theyll die. It was so bad once that washing your engine if you didnt cover the dist. it wouldnt start. also make sure the rubber cover that goea around the dist. is in good shape and is in place, this also helps keep moisture out.

Sometimes the inside of the dist. cap will have a lot of carbon dust in it from center button wear. That dust combined with dampness can allow the high voltage inside the cap to bleed all over the place -- and interfere with the flow of voltage between the rotor and the posts on the dist. cap. A good cleaning of that dust plus a descaleing of the posts themselves may be all you need.
