I grabbed an allen wrench where the short end just fits into the well and a "security" hex drive with a hole in the middle that slightly too small to fit the allen. Grind the edges of the wrench just a little, add some persuasion with a large hammer to get the wrench into the hole, and voila! Tool!
Wrap some paper towels around it, put a ratchet drive on it, stick in the hole, swirl it around, all the gunk comes out!
Difficulty: Easy
