Well i noticed in the last few weeks i've been smelling fuel. Then shortly afterwards the check engine light came on (good thing i ordered a CarMD it came in handy). I got a code saying one of my O2 sensor was bad so i changed it out and the code went away. So i week later i get the idea to attempt to change my spark plugs and coils out since the last time it was done was 2006 before my car went into storage for three years. of course the stealership wants over $1000 including parts and firestone wanted about $800 with parts. well good thing for this site because i got the balls to do it myself today. it took me about three hours to do both sides. as you can see from the pics there are three different name spark plugs (autolite, bosch and motorcraft) inside and boy was i pissed. the hardest one to get to (driver side rear) looked like it was the original plug and was fouled. Altman Lincoln Mercury (closed down a year after this flailex) completed this disaster. Screw dealerships!

Wait...i'm confused. The dealer changed the plugs last and basically put whatever they could find in hence the reason you have 3 different plugs!?! If that's the case, even though the place closed down, I'd still write an email/letter to Ford.

Hopefully you didnt put more of those Bosch +4 plugs back in.....

Ford has nothing to do with an individual dealerships practices. If the dealership was still open, then it would be wise to contact Ford, as they evaluate complaints and may suspend the dealers franchise.

Yes I realize that. However, if a Ford dealer messes up your car and doesn't want to take responsibility, a lot of guys on here have had great success contacting Ford directly and more often than not, Ford rights the problem without even involving the 'shady' dealer.

Help -- Last Screw on Driver Side (Spark Plug Replacement)

What am I missing? How in the world do you get that last screw out to replace the plugs? I've done 4 on one side and have wasted two evenings trying to get that last screw out on the other side. Can't find anything that will fit in that space. Screw size is 9/32. 2003 LS V8.

Thanks. Found it soon after I posted my question. 7mm wrench did the trick. Mad it took me so long for that one screw. Runs great now.:D

also a neat trick that i read from Quik, is to tie a small piece of string to the wrench and you wrist, good thing i did because i dropped the wrench at least twice getting that little fukcer out

ha ha ha...I saw that. Great tip, especially after dropping several tools in there. Luckily each time they fell all the way through for me.
