I know nothing about audio systems, but that looks like some very good work.

That's freaking awesome. But they should really LAY OFF THE ARMOR ALL. That dash will glare like a beotch in sunlight.

And not quite sure about the center channel, but the whole job is executed perfectly. Nice work

I bet that set him back a couple hundred bucks...

Great work and quality equipment.

The center channel is a joke. It looks totally awkward. I would have tried to either flush mount it hidden better. Or if that wasnt possible then try something in the center console.

The trunk looks very cool. Maybe a grill over that woofer to protect it from cargo. But great job.

It's got a cover for it so it's completely hidden. It's got pics of it in that link.

Ah. My phone didnt load all the photos. So I only saw up to the exposed sub.

Very clean install.

Not a big fan of JL Audio though...and the center channel looks ridiculous.

Thats what i mean.

Overpriced and you can get higher quality stuff from the smaller manufacturers like Audioque or DD.

I'm really wanting to pick up a 12" DC Audio sub. level 4.

I went for a drive today and realized a disc changer and amp were in the trunk of the car, but I think you have me "beat".

Yeah.

Later on when i get some spare funds i may pick up two 12" audioque subs with the 1200wrms amp they got and dynamat my trunk.

But first i need to get the oil changed and have my mechanic check the fan (constant on) my guess is thermostat or air in the cooling system.

has anyone ever done anything like this in a mark viii? that would be :q:q:q:qing sweet and ud have alot of fans and i agree the center speaker is a eye sore

I have a 12" XCON in the trunk on ~1300 RMS and it is plenty loud; however the stock alternator on the LS is about enough to run all of the car's electronic components and that's it... So you can't have too much fun with it. Eventually I'm sure I will get a HO alt.

The build log is also over on DIYMA. The guy who did the install does some amazing things. His company is Simplicity in Sound. He works out of his garage. Look him up.

It's a clean install..I have to agree the center channel is little out of place could have done it in the same spot using something more flush mounted, a smaller mid and tweet combo just my 2 cents...

I'll have to put some pics of my install up when i get a chance maybe the holidays...

Everything is very clean except the center channel, looks out of place and doesn't flow.

Nah. The Mark VIII guys are gear heads, not ghetto blasting attention whores. If you want attention in a Mark VIII, you put in an X pipe and blip the throttle. If you want attention in an LS... well... you know.

:p

I agree with most everyone else. Center looks stupid and shouldn't have been done. Pektel was right...too much armor all. I agree with Andrizzle...nice Fab work. Though im not sure of as to why he went with " beautiful LE midbass" seeing as how they will be hidden behind the door panel, unless he cut the speak grills from the door panel...which then would look stupid as well...but it wouldn't have been the first atrocious looking thing he done to the car :)

It just amazes me...after all this work...he forgot to pickup one thing.
