Please forgive any mis-spells fellows, I cut my left middle finger when getting out of Lucy at the Police Station this morning, and it's kind of awkward typing with a band-aid on.
Last night I was playing Gran Turismo 4 over at a friend's house last night and another one of his friends comes over and does something that no one ever does, which is park in the driveway at James' house. The driveway is steep and has a curve in it. Well, this guy had never parked there before and didn't know that you have to cut the wheel very hard to avoid bottoming out and backing into the line of cars parked across the street.
Anyway, when my girlfriend and I were leaving she tries to open the door and it sticks and she says, "Dave, I think something is wrong." So I ask, "what do you mean something is wrong?" And she tells me to come look, so I walk around the back of the car and as soon as I turn the corner I can tell something is wrong. The 'LS' on the fender usually reflects light at night and it wasn't there. I started screaming. FUCl<ERS! and stuff like that. I don't think I've ever been as pissed. Honestly.
After I calm down, only slightly, I decide to investigate, because, no offense to any law enforcement officers on here, but around here you'd be hard pressed to get a cop to do anything helpful for you. So, I looked at it and noticed there was paint from the other car, that was in flakes with a thin film of water making them nice and easy to take off and look at. I picked a fairly large one, about 2.75cmx.75cm, and took it into the back seat, the front passenger's door will not open. I thought it looked either blue or green. I asked another friend who was going to ride with me back to my house what color cars the guys drove who came over, if they were blue or green. He said, "No, dude's car is teal." I was dumbfounded by the stupidity one of my best friends had just shown, not that its an uncommon occurrence just that this particular instance seemed so obvious to everyone there that all I could say was "Dude, WTF mate? WTF?" literally, that was all I could think to say, oh, and that teal is both blue and green. That it's the middle ground.
But, oddly enough, it wasn't even that guy with the teal car that hit mind. It was another guy. Abel didn't park in the driveway, he knew better. Eric, did not. He backed right into Lucy, and drove away. That butt pirate. So, I called James, who was still in his house, and asked if anyone had parked in his driveway and if their car was green or blue, and told him that someone had just hit my car, and I thought that it was odd that just the fender was hit, not the bumper or the door and that's why I suspected someone parking in the driveway. He said that Eric had and that his car is green. So I ask for his number and call him up. He admits to it immediately and said he has insurance and will be there in a few minutes.
He gets there and we talk about it, he heard a noice and thought he had bottomed out, which I've done in the LS once when the trashcans were out, located at the bottom of the drive right where you need to cut hard to not bottom out, you can't and just have to scrape. Well, today is trashday, so the cans were out last night. Since he came back, and thought he had done something I've done I forgave him for not telling me. I don't want to screw him over, I just don't want to have to pay for something I didn't do; since I'm not having to, no sense in being a dick.
But, here's where it gets bad. It was both of our's first accident and we didn't really know what to do. We didn't exchange information and I set my phone in my lap on the ride home, I decided I was too pissed to drive and wanted to be chauffered home, when I got out of the car BAM! I drope the phone into the grass without noticing. Now, I haven't seen the Weather Channel in a long time so I don't know how it's been elsewhere, other than hearing about the snow in the Chicago area. But, its been raining here for a number of days. Not only did it spend the entire night in the rain, but when my roommate was going to work in the morning he ran over it. Its now a very good flashlight, the flash for the camera is stuck on and that'll only come on if I take the battery out and put it in with it open. The past 12 hours have been fun. So, now my phone is dead and can't be revived, which means i can't call Eric to get his information, until James get's up and I can call him to get Eric's number again. Then call Eric to get his info then call my insurance so they can file the claim with his insurance.
Sorry for the extremely long post, I was trying to answer as many possible questions that might be asked. I'll post what damage is estimated at, sorry can't post pics, no longer have a phone. Maybe when the new one comes in. Been busy this morning, especially considering the lack of sleep, layed down at about 1:30, didn't fall asleep until at least 3, that was the last time I remember seeing the clock. And waking up at 7. Time for a nap. Later.
