  • Breaks
okay break calipers<that right?> mine are rubbing the new rims. they have rubbed down the rim about an 1/8 of an inch. yeah its horrible but, by the time i figured it out too late. it hasnt damaged the caliper, more than the caliper dug out of the rim, it beeing harder metal. so assuming theres no damage and the breaks sound/act right everything is good right? basically, if something is geeked up, how hard is it to find calipers for this beast.

  • Suspension - http://www.strutmasters.com/lincoln-mark-viii-suspension-parts-s/41.htm

First just like to say, i believe this car has original airbladders.

On this website there are kits for front, rear, and packaged deals for both. but there are 2. one is missing the the rear shocks and mounts. is this necessary for the complete conversion or just like a upgrade? Basically what i have in mind is ordering this kit, and since i dont know how to do it, take it to a mechanic so i dont mess anything up. i can imagine after watching that vid that there are ALOT of other crap that needs to come out, wires, that compressor.

  • Headlights

Alright as i was informed its not just my 8 that has headlight problems, they all suck. so for the hid kit i see alot on ebay, is that a process a newbie could figure out? i dont know exactly what it entails. just a bulb or what.

also one of my headlights is loose due to the fact i hit a deer like 8 months ago. i dont exactly know how to fix it either, its not like it falls out its just loose in the socket.

advise on what to fix first as well. so far i have left, in order of priority.

  1. suspension - can live with bad headlights, but if that bag pops
  2. headlights -
  3. ac frion leak - sometime this winter, prices low then?
  4. mods for better engine.
  5. paint job - original paint from 93, chipping is a few spots. black/white? red?

and one more thing, changing the airfilter for the 93, i do need to unscrew that tube on the pax front side to get access to it?

Drive it down to me with a wad of cash and we will get it fixed up and checked over. The money you spend in gas will be far less then the cost difference of having me do it vs a dealer.

yea i just got off google maps, i figured you were someone where north, seen alot of people from north east on here so didnt figure you to be so close.

it sounds like a date, next 72, prob in 3 weeks ill drive down.

should probably wait to put my grill on too but ill take it to the hobby shop and take screws out till the bumper falls off and figure it out. i love to work on my car but i barely know where the dipstick is

If you search for any of my progress threads you will be able to see my work and what I can do.
Installed a blower on one, swapped motors on a couple more, just did a front end swap in a few hours a couple nights ago on Sapperfires car. Ive worked on a few members cars here and know these cars like the back of my hand ....... *looks at hand* .... wonder when I got that cut?

i dont doubt you and i read that thread, mot of it. i might wait till i order that suspension kit. found another 8 owner tonight at pepboys while i was changing my airfilter. hes got a guy who works at pepboys who can do the headlights so i may see what he has to offer. as far as the left one that wiggles im not sure.

do you like rum?

I dont drink though.

I also have an OEM passenger front air strut assembly that has under 2000 miles on it and is under 2 years old I bought new from Ford that I would sell for $125 should you decide to stay on air.

Nah after seeing what could go wrong, and the fact that my car sits low in the back when its cool outside I want regular.

I've got a full set of coils/shocks on my 93 that's at Lasers house..can be had real cheap

I gotta get all the stuff off that car so I can scrap it

And if you want to bring a bottle..I drink Crown Royal Black, but of coarse DrPepper is always welcome

what condition are they in and such?

Just my 2cents for OP. That coil-over pictured is what I have also and it's the best coil over I've ridden in. If you want to stay air I'm all for that as I wish I had done so but the cost is going to be pretty high.

so in short +1 for that coil over... it's a good-parts-no-hastle-cheap-done-deal.

edit.. also (do you have a gen1). I didn't think those lights could be buffed.. .or are you just talking about new lights?

Jamie does Gen1 headlight restoration..I've decided to not do it for the public, I may try it for myself..and if I don't like it..I'll send my extra set to him

you sir have yourself a deal, and if your taking it to scrap i might grab those rotors and brakes as well.

its a gen1. ive cleaned the headlights. can see straight through them they just dont give enough power.

Brakes are gone.

Yeah sorry mate, those brakes are on my 98 now

The control arms and sway bar links and Inner/Outter tie
Rods are still on it tho..and they're like brand new.. The upper fronts were changed after the last motor install. So they've got about 2 months use in em

I got like 500+ bucks to spend right now, prob be more like a thousand by the time I get down there

That side trim on doors and below the bumper, the shiny part. That possible to replace?

yes. its actually pretty easy tbh.. i did it myself on my car. all you need is a flathead screwdriver, wd40, chrome tape( in a roll, @ pepboys, autozone) and a rag. just put flathead under bottom of chrome strip, pry up, do it all the way across, the whole strip will come out, spray wd40 on the flathead and scrape all of the gunk off, measure how much you need, put new chrome tape on, very simple. although, bumpers are a little bit thicker for the chrome tape than the sides.

that is awesome, either thats a easy fix or you just got me to totally fack my car up.

You still got the shocks. You have the lowering or regular rear sway bar end links.

nah dude its an easy fix, i did it, easiest think i've ever done, takes about a little over an hour if you don't rush, just take your time and it'll be worth it, the 20-30 bucks you spend to re do the chrome will make the car look amazing.
