so after daily driving my car today you notice all the little things when u drive without the radio on...so here are some things and you all might know how to resolve them, i briefly looked at some search results but found nothing pinpointed

when the car is at a stop and i release my breaks slightly, the brakes obviously rub abit, but make a rubbing noise, as if the brakes arent get brake fluid, as if its, the metal on metal touch. is everyones LS like that or should i have it looked into. i know this wouldnt be under warranty either cause they will just say its brakes, even tho the car only has 11k on it

another is the door hinges when full opened make a squeek, i've tightened the bolts down and they still do, it seems as if the metal its on is too flimsy and gives lei-way

does anyone have a problem when they shut the door (passenger front door in this case) of hearing a shaking noise that sounds as if its inside the door?

the roof interior piece moves alot when driving 60+ mph with all the windows down, is there something to create a better adhesive or should i just not worry about it?

the trunk opens on its own, but when it reachs the top the momentum of it opening literally shakes the car a bit, should i be worried about this or its not a concern?

does anyone hear any suspension compression of the springs or anything when going over speed bumps, cause i do when i dont have the stereo on, and dont know if its just the compression of the shock cause of the different suspension (v8)?

Anyone put a projective screen over the navigation to prevent scratchs? if so what do u recommend to prevent glare? and my screen gets the lines on it if the AC is on max (auto) but the lines go away when its turned down or off

thanks in advance, ill research these upon my further investigation but im at work and wanted to see if anyone had the same problem/resolutions?

1) Your brakes shouldn't be making any noise at 11,000 miles. Have the dealer check them.

2) I'm on my second LS, and I don't recall either of them having doors that squeaked.

3) I've never had a rattle on closing a door on either of my LSes.

4) Towards the end of my ownership of it, the rear of the headliner on my '04 started flapping a bit when driving with the windows down. I don't recall seeing any flapping on my '06; ask your dealer to look at it when he's looking at the brakes.

5) The trunk behavior you describe is normal. The LS's trunk lid is mostly aluminum, and is fairly light. As a result, IMHO, it's over-sprung and under-damped, so I don't let it go up without having my hand on it. It probably won't hurt it too much, but that can't be good for it.

6) I don't particularly remember hearing any spring compression noises when going over speed bumps.

7) 3M makes a cool touchpanel-friendly Vikuiti anti-glare screen protector (in both removable and non-removable varieties). You can order a sample from 3M's Web site; it comes as an 8.5"x11" sheet. I don't know who carries them, but the sample would work for getting enough to cover your Nav screen. (I don't have a Nav system in my car, but I do have touchpanels at work, and I've been looking at the Vikuiti products; they seem to be quite nice.)

thanks for the help, well i drove it for about 30 -45 mins and realized that when i take it out of gear to park thats a strong thud that you can hear from outside and inside the car, does everyones shift that hard into park? and i've realized that shifting in the car is really rough, i've read how they changed the auto for this specific reason but being 05 means it has the "newer" one and it still shifts rough from 2nd to 3rd and sometimes other gears, where u can easily tell when its shifting cause acceleration briefly stops (this is under gradual acceleration too)

The squeaking can probably be fixed with a lubricant. I like to use Wurth HHS2000 spray grease on hinges. Works great.

On the door noise, my 06 had a rattle that occurred only when I shut the driver's door. I pointed this out to the dealer, and it turned out to be a missing bolt that held the window regulator to the door frame. The speed clip that attached to the bolt was the source of the rattle. Once a new bolt was put in place, the rattle was gone.

Since your car is an 05, I'd let the dealer know about these problems and have them fixed under warranty.

I doubt there is anything wrong with your brakes. a little groan when you are barely moving, "brake grunt" is normal. 1year 12k miles on adjustments and wear items, so the dealer should take care of any problem if there is one.

Squeaky doors, never much have a problem with them on the LS, again adjustments and lubrication should be taken care of.

Floppy rear headliners, unfortuanltly normal, the velcro that secures it isnt that great, dealer should also take care of re-securing it or adding more velcro to try and make a stronger bond.

rattling in the doors? there are alot of thigns in side the door, could just be the cables for the window regulators, I wouldnt worry about it.

Being able to hear the compression and rebound from the shocks, normal.

Poorly shifting transmissions on the 03 and up, we as technicians cant reegineer the cars poor shift stratedgies and drive by wire set up. Everytime I dive one I cant believe that ford considers it acceptable.

Good Luck with your issues.
