Sold the LS

Yes a honda odyssey! I bought the LS for the wife to drive when we had our first kid and to get rid of her pile of crap toyota 4runner (I hated that thing with a passion!). The LS was great until we had 3 kids and there was not enough room.

I've always had honda cars for daily driving myself and racing. They use hardly any gas and almost never have any problems. So naturally when I was looking for something bigger to haul around the family I looked for a honda. I originally wanted to get a suv type vehicle but they still had the same seat space as the LS. The only suv's with more seat space were huge land yachts like the suburban and excursion. The mini van was the only logical choice for seat space and a smaller vehicle.

Sure they have no bling status but they are quite nice to drive and work very well for loading/unloading and hauling the family around.

On a side note I think my honda mini van is faster than the LS.

This summer when I was out by myself a BMW something or other pulled up next to me at a red light. About 200 feet from this light the road goes from 3 lanes down to 1 and it is a known place to try and get ahead of other cars. I could tell this guy was going to try to get ahead of me in my mini van. When he pulled up to the light in his convertible he laughed a bit and said something to his prissy wife sitting in the passenger seat. Than he started to watch the opposing light waiting for it to change to red and give us the green.

I knew that my v6 VTEC 240hp mini van got up and went decent so I figured this should be interesting anyhow.

The light turned green and I rolled into the throttle just a bit to see what the bmw guy was going to do. He started out a little hot on the throttle and noticed he wasn't pulling on me like he figured. Within 20 feet he noticed I wasn't gonna let him have my lane easy so he planted it and I noticed a little concern in his wifes face. lol About the same instant I also planted my foot down. Very much to my surprise I started to pull on the bmw. Not allot and not fast but I was inching up on the bmw. I was at his back bumper when I floored it and at the end of the 200ish feet where the lanes go down to 1 I was dead even with the bmw. He than had to swallow his pride, let off, and fall in line behind me in my all mighty mini van. I watched in my mirror and noticed his wife was laughing a bit. He didn't look like he shared her enthusiasm. At the next stop sign about two blocks up I went strait and he turned to the right behind me. I noticed that he either waved or flipped me off when he made the corner, I am unsure which it was.

Moral of the story is, if your out cruising around in your bmw don't try to impress your wife by racing any mini vans because you might get spanked. LOL

whatever helps you sleep at night!

How much you want to bet that my LS would smoke the $hit out of your van? As slow as the LS is, it's still faster than a 3 series unless it has an M in front of it. Good kill though, my dad has smoked quite a few ricers in his 2000 V6 Windstar that he uses to haul stuff around in.

Don't be getting your panties in a bunch. I am sure the LS is faster than my mini van, but I wouldn't go around bragging about that to your friends.

From what I could find it looks as though the odyssey should run a 15.9 in the 1/4. It is a mini van after all, I don't feel the need to have anything fast to haul the kids around. lol

At least I have cup holders that can hold cups bigger than a 12oz. can. :P

I've noticed for a few years that Oddysy owners seem to think they have a race vehicle in their hands, and in fact, I have seen them do some pretty extreme cornering in them. I always wondered why they were like that, but if you think about it, they had to do something to those vans to make a guy get at least a little bit out of driving one. Maybe that's it. Make them the ultimate sleeper to give BMW drivers something else to bitch about.

I'm glad you enjoyed the LS. I hope that my LS never dies. PS: three kids ! Wow, that Honda should fit them plus more. :-)

Trust me I know very well what the LS is and isn't capable of, and my panties are far from being up in a bunch. I'll let you go around bragging to people what you think your minivan can and can't beat; whatever helps you justify having to get rid of a rwd V8 car for a kid hauler.

how many cup holders? like 12 haha

The front has 4 cup holders, 2nd row of seats has 2 cup holders and the rear row has 2 cup holders. lol

I guess for rwd v8 fun I will have to resort to driving around the 68 mustang. :)

ya it can def hold more than a 12 0z can but when your wife gets fat it can hold her 300 lb can better than the LS as well

Well, you lost one, but got another!
Im new here and yes, I have an issue! Suprise!
I have a 2000 ls, V-8 and I do say I love it, until now. Every car has their issues. Try owning a1980 Trans Am.
Here is my problem! Leaking Valve Cover, not bad but it is the drivers side. It is also missing.... sometimes, only in the mornings after I have driven it for about 10 mins. Then the rest of the day its fine??? Odd huh?
I am going to replace the Gasket, plugs and coils on the drivers side first. then the Passanger side the next weekend.
From what I read, everyones check engine light comes on, but Mine hasn't yet. Should I be concerned or could this be something other than the coils? I guess I will find out if there is oil in the coil chambers?
GREAT SITE AND KNOWLEDGE!
THX

Its probably coils, alot of cars never get check engine lights on it...BTW, you should start a new thread, not jack another :shifty: :)

^ LOL!!

TDUB the 68 is a notchback originally an I6 car but is in the works of getting a supercharged 302. I've had the car for about 10 years now. I drove it a bit when I brought it home with the I6 but than it sat in storage for the last 9 years. I just finished up my last supercharged crx project so now I have the room to start on the mustang finally. Once I get it home here and get started on it I am hoping it will be done within a year. I really miss that old school v8 sound and drive.

Whats the story on your 69? My dream stang is a grabber blue 69 boss 429.

Vids of the CRX I just finished this spring. It is my lapping day, auto-x, track day car. It was a complete strip down and rebuild, repaint, etc. Even all the nuts and bolts are new and shiny! lol

My dad originally had 2 1969 Mustangs when I was growing up, a 302 coupe and the Mach 1. He bought the Mach in 1991 for $1,000 off of a guy who had 3 of them. It had been involved in a minor accident and was in pretty bad shape but from what I understand was still drivable. He bought a lot of the parts for it and had a body shop down the street do most of the body work on it. Then he let it sit in the back of their parking lot for years because he didn't have room in the driveway. Finally, he sold the coupe and brought the Mach home where it's sat ever since. After that I was the only one who ever put any work into it so last year he decided to sign the title over to me. The car is just a basic Mach but is all original. However, it is somewhat rare because it was made in July of 69 so they put the Cleveland in it instead of the Windsor. My plan right now is to restomod it, pull the original drive train and save them and either put a crate motor in or a 428 mated to manual trans. My car's original color is gulf stream aqua with the white interior. My dream Mustang which is EXTREMELY rare is a 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake; I believe they only made 3 of them.
