Right after I bought the car the air started blowing through the defrost. If I remember right it was intermittent at first and only did it when it rained but that's all in the past I guess.

In the meantime, trying to troubleshoot the problem I have done the blend door ( and pulled the dash again to make sure 1. the yellow vacume line is connected correct and that the door is opening and closing ). Replaced the dash unit, and replaced the controller under the dash ( from a junkyard car ).

I've looked for a vacuum leak multiple times and couldn't find one so I took it to a shop yesterday. I couldn't leave too long but in the day they had it they found a vacuum leak behind the dash from where I pinched the tubes putting the dash back in the 2nd time and nothing else.

One thing I forgot to mention is that whether the dash unit is on or off the fan still runs. My mechanic said the dash unit is giving power all the time from the fan controller plug on the back and that the scroll wheel doesn't work (change voltages) when you scroll the wheel and that's what he suspects why the fan is always going.

The second problem is that the air only comes out of the dash a very small amount.. It's cold but it barely comes out.

The unit in the dash is basically new. This problem was happening before I bought the new unit from Jaime and before the new controller (under the dash) was replaced.

While my mechanic doesn't agree I'm still suspecting a vacuum leak. Anyone have any thoughts? I'd love to get an idea of what's going on. I'd like air conditioning this summer. :(
