For 2013, Lincoln has decided to continue the FWD MKS and MKZ. However, both cars have been updated. I personally am not a fan of either. I think Lincoln hired a Marine Biologist as their lead design engineer. First time I saw both cars, particularly the MKS, I thought of the Baleen whale. I compiled a few pictures to prove my case. Just taking another step closer to liking Cadillac more. What do you guys think? Yay or Nay?

Agree. The mks was just a refresh to hold them over until the "new styling direction" was released on the new mkz. They say this mkz is completely redesigned and a new direction for Lincoln. But personally I think this mkz looks like what I would expect if Lincoln continued the direction they were already going. It's not that far off from the designs lincoln currently has out.

I was expecting alot more

I was going to buy the new mkz because they said it would be so amazing. But IMO it is a huge dissappointment. I actually hate it. All of them. I guess my favorite would be the navigation and mkx. But neither make me want to go out an but them. Just best ones in the lineup.

I was going to start a thread about the new mkz but I decided not to waste my time. We owners on here own the greatest Lincoln car as of late. IMO.

I saw this yesterday. It's still very early since they announced the coming of a "remake" of the Lincoln lineup, but my thoughts are as follows:

1. These cars are not going to save Lincoln. All the talk of 7 new models and they come up with this? Their new german designer must be drunk. These won't cut it with the demographic they want to expand to.
2. The new Ford Fusion has been received very well with it's Aston Martin/Chrysler300 styling. If there is no major differentiation between these why would anyone under the age 65 buy one? Improving Ford Models already pushed out Mercury's middle segment, Lincoln needs some gusto.
3. They want to compete against the BMW/Audi/Mercedes of the world. They need a performance orientated RWD vehicle (Well Duh!)
4. Lincoln needs a flagship platform vehicle
5. They need to drop the current MK naming convention. Not a fan

Neon yes. That's terrible. I think if you just put a Mazda grill on the front instead of the split Lincoln one the fronts resemble mazdas too.

I lol'd at the whale reference.

These look like complete ass. I hate almost every new car being made/designed right now. Everything looks the same. Gross.

I read an auto blog yesterday that says the one on the right looks like John Wilkes Booth LOL Thanks to the fact that that grille looks like a circus mustache and the car will kill Lincoln lol

I wish Lincoln would take a look at what Jaguar and Cadillac have done recently. Most of the Ford lineup is pretty solid now but the Lincoln side seems to be suck in the sand...

Good call on the whale. I dont like the "new" looks either.

I keep saying a rebadged ford falcon on the Lincoln side to compete with the cts v.

The mks doesn't look bad in person and the interior is hot. But ugly front and huge rear equals fail.

^ That's hilarious. ^

I really do believe it looks like a whale. I just can't believe its a lincoln....Seriously. What was the engineer thinking on this one? That's really all I am going to think about when I see these cars at the auto show.

Actually the MKZ front kind of liikes like a cat too. (whiskers)

I don't know if it's hubris or lack of spine that makes a company stay on a course that obviously is not working. Once they see that they have screwed a design up, they need to just scrap it and start fresh instead of trying year after year to force the issue. The front end of these lincolns is getting uglier and uglier.

lmaol at the whale!

Good god thats horrible!!! such a pathetic design. I like the other ones more then this new crap. Im sure the interiors are very nice but they just went from bad to worst with this design.

This pic looks OK, but the rest of the design details are not wowing me.

Warmed over Fords with a higher price tag and ugly sheet metal. I still can't figure out why they stick with the ghastly grills on their whole line up. I agree, we have the best looking modern Lincoln and I won't be buying any other Lincoln very soon.

waiting for the car show to come next month and hopefully I can see them up close and personally, because these pics are really ruining it for me. I didn't like the last MKS and this might be worse. I did like the MKZ but man they're killing me with these grills.smh
