So am I screwed or what :(

Do you only have one key? If not try another one. The gray key is the valet key and it does not open the trunk. The black keys will open the trunk, unless the lock is broken. The trunk key lock is purely mechanical and does not require battery power.

If you don't have a working key, then you can use one of those jump start things that plugs into the cigarette lighter. That should be able to give the car enough power that the electric trunk release button on the dash could open it.

Can I jump it from the front anywhere

The bolt on the passenger side firewall (in the kick panel and behind the passenger wheel well) or the "B" terminal on the starter. There are some good ground points around there too.

BTW, don't jump start this way, just do it to power up the interior trunk release.

Ok so I have no idea what bolt your referring to so I snaps some pics let me no if the bolt is in the pic or what way to look form there ImageUploadedByTapatalk1389126270.042377.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1389126290.008633.jpg
The second is a question is the bolt at the kick panel in or outside the car

You need to hook up the positive side of your jumper to an open pin in the under hood fuse box then hook the ground cable of your jumper to the body. This really should only be done to give enough power to get into the trunk. You really should not try to start the engine with this setup.

I found this now what is an open pin in the fuse box

1.
To see it from inside the car, you'd have to pull the passenger side kick panel out.
To see it from outside (probably the way to go) you'll have to remove or partly remove the passenger wheel cover and remove the wheel (or turn it all the way to the right, hard to do without the engine running).
2.
One end of the bolt is inside the car, behind the kick panel on the firewall. The other end of the bolt is outside the car behind the wheel well cover on the firewall. So, the answer to your question is "yes."

If you only have the gray key, this probably doesn't help at all, but a couple years ago my battery died and I tried my black key on the trunk. It refused to work but after wiggling and such for like 30 minutes it finally worked. I think I've only used the key on the trunk twice in the 5 years I've owned the car so I assumed that had something to do with it.

If all you have is the valet (gray) key...... GET AT LEAST TWO REGULAR (black) KEYS MADE ASAP!!!!!!!!!!

Where can I have the key made please don't say dealership lol

You can get the keys from ebay (make sure you get a 2nd generation key!! '06, right??) and I had Lowes cut it for me. You ned two working keys to program new keys, so that will be a dealer visit.

Let me get this straight..... The dealer sold your car with only the valet key and the original owner or someone else is running around with keys to YOUR car!!!???? I would make them provide at least one regular key and reprogram the system so the other keys don't work!!

Will he be able to have them correctly cut (to open the trunk) with just a valet key to go by?
If not, may have to order pre-cut via the VIN.

Some locksmiths can program new keys for you without two keys. The scan tool that I have allows me to do it.

I don't have my car easily accessible, are the back seat releases in the trunk? or is there a way to open them from inside the car?

They are in the trunk, but I've heard that you can force it from inside if you do it right.

You're right. The valet key, IIRC, is cut differently as it won't fit in the trunk or (1st gens) glove box or inside trunk release.

Wasn't there a way to release the latch by removing the rear seat bolsters? I thought I remembered reading something about that here....

I know when I first bought my LS neither the door nor trunk worked with the key due to lack of use I sprayed mad penetrating oil in both, the truck finally released and worked but the drivers door was a bust so when I replaced the lock assembly removed the key lock and took it to a lock smith and had him redo it for like 15 bucks I try to remember to use the key here and there cus u never know when u loose ur key fob or battery dies and u have to use the key I also had the lock smith make me a reg key without the programming and have it hidden under the car so if I get locked out I can at least get back in the car and if someone does find it they cant start the car
