Why are your heated seat buttons so funny looking?

I know, right? I hate those buttons. Apparently those are aftermarket heated seats. I did get the buttons, wire harnesses, and correct replacement "wood" surround with the square cutouts for the original buttons from the junkyard though. Now it's just a matter of re-wiring the factory buttons to the aftermarket heaters.
