Just wondering what your settings are as far as timing and A/F adjustments...

BTW, after datalogging I found out that no matter what settings I put for the timing it never goes above 28 degrees at WOT.

yes.... the car drives about 10 times better but its still slow :(
I am pretty sure its a bit faster then that tho. It was my second run ever, the first run I ran a 15.9. I was pedaling it off the line both times, the track was pretty slick.

i've got a datalog from one of my 1/8th mile passes from july[hot bad air]

the car saw 11-32.5 degrees in the burnout box
and peak spark during the run was 30.
most of the run was at less timing 25-28 degrees

also curious about the settings, as im looking into getting one in the near future. also curious about the simplicity on setting it up (know all about working on a stock veh, its this tuning stuff that worries me)

the tuning part of it is fairly straightfoward, there is a fairly steep learning curve at first.

it really helps if you have someone to help you at first, until you get a handle on the "ins and outs".

well aslo i wanna make sure that i can correct for different gears (biggest reason for getting this). i know the speedo is ran off the abs, but ill need to change the shift points and i get so many conflicting stories on what ill need to do to make it work, been told speedo gear, or speed cal or tune and some have said all 3! just cant seem to get a straight answer on this

For a gen 2 you don't need a speedo gear, just a tune. For some reason the OBD2 Mark VIII's have a different timing strategy. I have seen 33 degrees total timing on my 95 Mark VIII LSC as well.

the eec 4 and obd2 pcm's use vastly different timing strategies.

for instance, obd2 has BKT and eek 4 has a regular timing table.
two totally different approaches, similar goals

If any of you guys using Sniper Special Forces with a 98 Mark VIII with a BTCO catch code want timing retard removed in between shifts and top speed limiter removed as well PM me. Special Forces doesn't allow you to do these things but I have a custom base file now which eliminates those things.

I removed the top speed limiter on my sniper tune.

Yea you get the option to do it in Special Forces but it doesn't work. You haven't tested it out yet right? Stock speed limiter with stock gears for the LSC kicks in at 124mph.

Hmmm... what kinda timing does it see stock?

I only put about 50 mile on it with the stock tune, so I dunno..
Guess I could flash it back to stock and datalog it..*shruggs*

but to what end..I've show they will go higher than 28.
Flashing it back to stock would probably be a waste of time.

I can tell you what the stock value is in the top right of BKT and Max allowed spark...
Do you have access to BKT and Max Allowed Spark? if not.. your kinda pissing against the wind.

Now you may ask..

If max BDK spark is 19 degrees and max allowed spark is 24 degree's then..

"how do you get 28-30 degree's of timing"?

Easy the IMRC "adders" plus the entire list of spark mulitpliers and modifiers that you see in the screen cap.

They are "needed" functions, often overlooked.

98LSC32V: "Unforunately I don't see a PID to be able to log my knock sensors."

your kidding me, sniper wont show you KS activity?

man, you really dont want to add any timing, unless you can "instrument" Knock sensors... just dont do it, until they can get you access to that PID

you can be assured they ARE pulling timing.

I've got mine set up to pull timing in the event of knock and to add up to 5 degree's of timing when no knock is heard. it works really well.

When I datalog Knock sensors I can see that during part throttle they are adding 2-3 degree's while I'm driving on cruise control.. IT ROCKS!!

FWIW:
you can datalog knock sensors with the Xcal 2, even a locked one will datalog your car, no need to buy a new one.

If you were closer to me, I could get one in your hands to datalog with, but.. your on the left coast and I'm on the third coast.. sorry.

Hey 98lsc32v put your tune in... Holy crap now this car feels like it has some balls thanks so much
